Asin is set to work with Shahrukh Khan

This Southern belle is definitely having a ball. After working with Aamir Khan in Ghajini Salman Khan in yet-to-be-released London Dreams , Asin is set to work with Shahrukh Khan . Grapevine is abuzz that Asin is being considered for a role opposite SRK in a Yashraj film. However, the original choice for the role was Katrina Kaif , but Shahrukh, who wants to keep safe distance from Salman and co., wasn’t too interested in working with Katrina. So Katrina is reportedly out and Asin is in. Saying yes to the project wasn’t easy for Asin.

She had already allotted the dates to a Priyadarshan flick with none other than Akshay Kumar . And since Yashraj Films demanded dates around the same time, Asin was in a fix. She had to choose between doing a film with Akki or Yashraj. But luck favoured Asin. Akshay asked Priyadarshan to postpone his film because of unavailability of dates. So as Priyan’s film was shifted to 2010, Asin had free dates for the Yashraj film. So now, as things stand, Asin is most likely doing the YR Film with SRK. But interestingly, there’s a buzz that she might be replaced by Katrina in Priyan’s film with Akki. Well, the two ladies are all square now.

Big B fan of ex-captain Rahul Dravid

Its rare to know that even Shahenshah of Bollywood loves cricket as this legendary actor was watching India vs New Zealand match at his Prateeksha house on Sunday and was not happy when Rahul Dravid was given out.

Big B’s comments on the Rahul Dravid,“Rahul Dravid was clearly not out. The ball went off his leg pad for that umpire gave wrongly decided catch. His magnificent innings, shaping up for the century gone to naught, gone to history and who knows how it will effect the result of the game. That’s India vs New Zealand 2nd Test at Napier on the 4th day.” It seems interesting to know that Amitabh Bachchan watched cricket match from his busy shooting schedule, which is quite rare.

AR.Rahman Refused Kamal Hassan's offer

Just pick out the great films lined up in the career of Kamal Haasan . ‘Aalavandhan’ was indeed considered to be one of the biggest projects for this actor. But, when approached A.R. Rahman, the musician refused to take up his offer. The frustrated actor thus got in Shankar Mahadevan to score the music. Later, again the situation was worst for K.S. Ravi Kumar-Kamal Haasan when Rahman didn’t want to accept the offer for ‘Dasavatharam’. Finally, now after fetching Oscars , Kamal by all means wanted Rahman to score music for his ‘Thalaivan Irukiran’.

And again, the disappointed actor has made his daughter Shruthi Haasan to score music. None are able to zero down the exact factor. Of course, Rahman has been devotedly taking up offers of films like ‘Sakkarakatti’ and SJ Suryah’s flicks and why not Kamal Haasan?

Priyanka Chopra as a comic strip heroine

Actress Priyanka Chopra is now set to be the heroine of a comic strip. It’s not exactly a demotion from the big screen to comics, but just a foray by the lovely Bollywood lady into a new stream.

British entrepreneur Richard Branson approached Priyanka for a comic character, for which the actress has given her nod. It’s been more than a year since Priyanka and Branson are working together for this new comic series. There are two projects - the first one is a superhero story with the main character that looks like Priyanka and borrows from her life, while other is a fictional story. After an eventful 2008, Priyanka is going places. She is selected for the Nielson Box Office Award at 3rd Annual Asian Film Awards to be held on March 23. She has been chosen for her exceptional contribution to Asian Films.

Recently, she was invited to give her foot imprints at Italy’s Salvatore Feragamo Musuem, the mecca of shoe fashion. Priyanka is the only actress and the second woman from India to be invited there; the first one was the Maharani of Cooch Behar.

As for now, the lady is waiting for her the release of her film Kaminey in which she plays a feisty character of Sweeti opposite Shahid Kapur and she is portraying altogether 12 characters for Ashutosh Gowarikar’s next What’s Your Raashi .

Asin in trouble with police?

Seems like a former assistant of Bollywood Actress Asin has allegedly gone missing and his mother blamed Asin for the incident. Muthukmaraswamy (23), who was employed with Asin in Chennai and left along with her to Mumbai more than a year ago when the actress moved to the metro to shoot for the Aamir Khan-starrer ‘Ghajini’, has been missing for the past ten days, his mother Sudalaivadivu told PTI here today. Though Swamy had initially expressed joy working with Asin, he later complained of being verbally abused by the actress, the manager’s mother alleged. She said her son could not be contacted on his mobile phone and Asin’s father Joseph told her that Swamy had already quit his job and “joined an anti-social gang.” Police officials who are investigating the case said that Asin’s father had informed a local police station in Mumbai, as the rules mandate there, that Swamy had quit on Januray 21 and the salary amount had been settled.

Neha chosen for a foreign project

The protagonist of the serial is to be played by Chris Kattan who is a popular American comedian. The tele-series to be presented in three parts will tell the story of a guy who has a dream of becoming a Hero in Bollywood. Tabrez Noorani, the line producer of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ helped Neha to get the role. He along with the Bollywood choreographer Longinus Fernandes are also going to work as assistants during the production of ‘Bollywood Hero’.

Katrina Kaif opening her own restaurant

Katrina Kaif is planning to open a chic restaurant in Mumbai. However, she is looking for a business partner to team up with.

The health conscious actress is ready to foray into a new business. She is set to invest in an up-class, high-end coffee house-cum-bar-cum-lounge-cum-restaurant where people can have not just international cuisines, but also socialize and relax.

“I want the restaurant to be styled and designed something along the lines of a London or New York high-end coffee shop, somewhere classy and cool,” Katrina is quoted by a Mumbai tabloid. Katrina is on the lookout for a business partner who has some years of experience in restaurant business.

The actress is under no illusion that she won’t be able to give her full time to the restaurant. So she wants to tie up with a partner who understands the food and hospitality business and has the required expertise to run the restaurant. The restaurant will most likely come up in Bandra. Katrina says she will squeeze out as much time for the restaurant as she could.

Shruthi makes debut as music director

Here is the latest update on Kamal Hassan’s forthcoming film Thalaivan Irukkindran.According to the sources, Kamal’s daughter Shruthi Hassan is going to provide the background score for this film.

The buzz is that she will do the background score for this film. In addition to that Shruthi will do a music video, for the television promo of the film.

Thalaivan Irukkindran is a joint venture by Rajkamal and UTV, and is expected to start by the end of the month after certain issues are sorted out. Originally, the launch of the film was slated for March 9th.
