Imran Khan now ready for his marriage!

Apparently, Imran Khan can’t wait to tie the knot with his gorgeous fiancée Avantika. The two got engaged in January this year and are now set to get married in Jan 2011, if the latest buzz in tinsel town is to be believed.

Buzz has it that Imran and Avantika are planning an out-of-the-ordinary wedding in Thailand. The ceremony will reportedly take place sometime in January, and the venue would be a palatial resort that will also house the guests who will fly from Mumbai and elsewhere for the grand wedding.

From what we hear, Imran is hoping to keep himself free for a month or more to be able to fully commit to the marriage and the honeymoon that will follow. He has even requested Karan Johar to shift the dates for the film Short Term Shaadi so that he could have his own shaadi (not short term, we hope) or nikaah without any hitch.

Scheduled to start in December this year, this love story will apparently be directed by a newcomer, Shakun Batra who has recently joined Dharma Productions. It was Imran who suggested Shakun to Karan. Shakun has already shown his skills as an assistant in ‘Rock On’ and ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’.

Talking to a news daily, an all beaming Imran Khan said, “Yes it is true that I am doing another film with Karan Johar. The film will be directed by Shakun but beyond that, I can’t confirm anything on the casting front. Shakun has been a friend ever since he joined the industry and was a second assistant director on Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. He has written the script with our mtual friend Aayesha”.

Actor Imran Khan was reported to have compared two of his co-stars – Sonam Kapoor and Genelia. He has said that while Sonam does her homework and believes in preparing before a shot, Genelia is quite opposite – she is very spontaneous.

Genelia had paired up with Imran in Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na and Sonam has worked with him in I Hate Luv Storys, which is due for a release soon.

In an interview to the IANS, Khan had said, “The styles are so different. Sonam is a very prepared actor. She will come on set and say how she wants to do the scenes. She knows every bit… Genelia is very spontaneous. In different scenes, she will do different things. So for Genelia we used to wait to see what she would do.”

Bollywood actor Imran Khan, who plays a womaniser in his new film ‘I Hate Luv Storys’, admits he has stripped more than the girls in the film.

‘I have some deadly shirtless songs and scenes. I believe I have stripped more than the girls in the film,’ Imran told reports here Monday at DT Cinemas in DLF Promenade, where he was present along with co-star Sonam Kapoor and director Punit Malhotra, to promote the film.

‘I Hate Luv Storys’ is about two people, who are completely opposite when it comes to romance.

While Jay (Imran) doesn’t believe in love, Simran (Sonam) swears by it and has a very Bollywood idea of the emotion. It is set for release July 2.

Dodging rumours of any cold war between him and actor Ranbir Kapoor, Imran said: ‘I don’t think actors should be compared. Every actor looks different and performs differently, everyone has their own strength and weaknesses and are good in their own way.’

Imran and Sonam were greeted with much fanfare at the mall. They joyfully interacted with their fans and even shook a leg together for the title song of ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ for their audience.

Yes, going by the buzz inside the office of Dharma Productions - the banner under which Imran’s movie I Hate Luv Storys is being made - Imran is the new sex symbol for the gay community.

 

Ever since the images of Imran going shirtless for the film appeared on the web, the office has been inundated with calls from gay fans requesting for autographed posters of Imran lying semi-naked in bed.

“Yes, I have been asked to sign a lot of pictures. I think they could be for the gay community, but I didn’t get into the details,” Imran tells a tabloid.

Deepika, who split from Ranbir Kapoor a few months back, says she knows her private life will be talked about by the media.

“I understand that it comes with the kind of work I do and I am fine with it. I am very happy with my life and the work I am doing,” Deepika said.

Imran and Shruti launches ‘luck’ based game site

The entire cine goers clan, the Bollywood fraternity along with Kamal Hassan wait with baited breath as newbie Shruti Hassan makes her grand debut with ‘Luck’ opposite Imran Khan. The on-screen chemistry between the couple as seen in the trailers and in the promotional events looks promising. Also, Shruti get to show some of her versatility as she does some karate and martial arts rounds in the flick with veterans like Sanjay Dutt and Danny Denzongpa.

The makers of the film are leaving no stones unturned in promoting their venture. Apart from appearances in TV shows and radio station, Imran and Shruti were seen launching the luck based game site at JW Marriot, Juhu, Mumbai on Wednesday. Check out some clicks from the event.

Shruti hassan in bikini "I am not scared, but I am excited for sure," Shruti Haasan's confidence is infectious. The pretty girl makes her debut in LUCK [slated for release next Friday], which will decide her future steps in Bollywood. Not many are aware that it was Imran Khan who recommended her name to director Soham Shah.

"Imran and I have been friends for a long time and when Soham narrated the story, I decided to give it a try. I took up the assignment because I feel it's not one of those routine stories. It's not one of those films where the girl doesn't get any scope or is sidelined," Shruti tells me. But there were news-reports that Shruti would debut in a Tamil film with Madhavan. "Yes, I was supposed to, but things didn't work out," she adds.

Shruti says her parents were very supportive when she told them of the offer she had received [LUCK]. But was she nervous when she shot with Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty and Danny Denzongpa, veterans all? "In fact, they were co-operation personified. Everyone knew that this was my debut film and were patient all through the shoot," she reveals.

But the portions she enjoyed most were the action sequences. "I was looking forward to enacting the stunts and would you believe it, I did all my stunts myself. I really enjoyed the experience," Shruti divulges.

Imran hurts Minissha

The festival season’s most anticipated release Kidnap sees two of the lead actors caught in an unusual situation. Typically, Bollywood heroes and heroines are caught singing romantic duets. But Kidnap essentially traces the complex relation between a kidnapper and his victim, leaving little scope for a budding romance in the initial reels of the film.

What made this situation more difficult to enact was the fact that Imran and Minissha got along like a house on fire from the first day of the shoot! At times, the director Sanjay Gadhvi would have to intervene and keep the actors away from each other for an entire day especially if they needed to shoot an angry scene. On one such day, Imran insisted on practicing a knife stunt with Minissha before the actual shoot. The sport that Ms. Lamba is known to be, she readily relented and even suffered cuts on her fingers while rehearsing. But that didn’t stop them from giving a bone-chilling take in the end.


Of course, Minissha still chides Imran about her injury by saying that he hurt her only to avenge his loss in a card game they played on the sets!

Being released worldwide by Indian Films - Studio 18, Kidnap is out in cinemas on Id, Wednesday 1st October.

That Minissha Lamba is a water baby is evident from the promos of Kidnap, which show her swimming and relaxing on the beachside. But who would have thought Imran Khan would parallel his co-star while they were shooting for the film in Mauritius?

It seems Imran and Minissha have shot a chilling underwater sequence in the film, which is among the highlights of the film and also the point when she gets kidnapped. Both the actors rehearsed for the scene for almost a fortnight before taking the 'dive'.

Confirms director Sanjay Gadhvi, ''We trained in Mumbai in a pool. It was an elaborate shoot with a dedicated  
  
underwater DOP and a standby team of divers for rescue. I've used the same underwater specialists as the ones used in Dhoom 2. While shooting the scene I was on the boat watching the shot on the monitor, which was attached to the underwater camera by cables. We had special communication equipment through which Imran and Minissha could hear me say 'action' and 'cut' while they were underwater.''

Seems like this is among the many chills and thrills Kidnap has to offer. It releases worldwide on Wednesday 1st October by Indian Films – Studio 18.


Imraan refuses Yashraj banner

Imraan Khan does not want to go the Hrithik Roshan way. Like Hrithik, Imraan had a great debut. But unlike Hrithik, Imraan does not want to sign on any film coming his way even if they are from big banners. Hrithik signed with reknowned banners like Subhash Ghai(Yaadein), Sooraj Barjatiya(Mein Prem Ki Diwani Hoon) and Kunal Kohli(Mujhse Dosti Karoge) and all of them bombed. And Inran certainly does not want to follow that route.

If sources are to be believed the actor has just turned down a subject offered to him by the Yashraj banner with the reason that he did not like the script. Imraan was approached by Aditya Chopra a few months before the release of his debut film Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Naa with three story ideas. Imraan approved one of them which was then sent to the writers to be further scripted.

However just few weeks back a narration was given to him but the actor did not quite like it.

Imraan Khan who is eagerly awaiting the release of his second film when asked if Yashraj approached him with the project, said `` I don't think it is right to talk about projects that are not confirmed.''

When quizzed further if the project that was offered to him was not liked by him and apparently has said no to the film, Imraan said, `` I don't think it is right to talk about projects that are either in development or a project that did not happen. As it stands today I have no commitments after Delhi belly.''

So the big question is, has Imraan refused the Yashraj banner? Watch this space for more on this...
