Sexy sisters Malaika Arora Khan and Amrita Arora were seen at the grand finale of Zara Nachke Dikha, the television reality show where Malaika is one of the judges. Malaika has done a few item numbers and judged a few reality shows while Amu (Amrita) has done a few bollywood films. Ranbir celebrates B'day with Deepika

Hectic shooting schedule failed to debar Deepika from celebrating Ranbir’s birthday. The actress flew all the way from Ooty to be with beau on his special day. Deepika was shooting for Saif’s home production in Ooty and Ranbir for Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani. Since Deepika was shooting without any break for couple of months, it was not tough for her to get days off. Saif and Dinesh Vijan accepted her leave and freed her for three days.

The source adds, "It was a pleasant surprise for Ranbir. He had been very unwell for the last couple of days and was down with fever and Deepika had been very concerned about him. Also, Ranbir has been in Ooty for the last 40 days and Deepika wanted to make sure that he wasn’t alone on his birthday. She flew in from Delhi and drove three hours from Coimbatore to Ooty. The unit celebrated by bringing in his birthday on Saturday with a cake. Ranbir and Deepika went out for a quiet dinner afterwards."

Birthday without birthday gift seems incomplete. Few days back, Deepika gifted Ranbir MacBook Air and Ranbir being a computer savvy chat on net whenever he is free. He finds it very useful to remain in contact with Deepika as she is away from him in relation to work.

Amrita Rao Enjoying her Success

Amrita Rao has been receiving some stunning reviews for her role in Welcome to Sajjanpur in which she plays a country girl in Shyam Benegal’s movie. Amrita and Shyam both come from the same area and speak Konkoni. How did she cope with the local dialect? "We had the assistance of dialogue writer Ashok Mishra, who is from Baghelkhand, on the sets," she says. "And every day, after pack up, I used to sit with him to further perfect my lines."

Amrita won a Best Female Debut Award and Superstar of Tomorrow Award for Ishq Vishk and Most Promising New Talent Award for Vivaah. She is lucky in that different directors have seen her in different styles of roles and her acting ability has grown accordingly with fine performances in films such Main Hoon Na and My Name is Anthony Goncalves. She will soon be seen opposite Harman Baweja in Victory and has a glamorous role in Shortcut.

What can she tell us about her upcoming films? "Shortcut.has me playing a very glamorous role. It`s a thriller with a right mix of comedy, romance and some twists," she explains. "Then I have Victory with Harman Baweja. I play a girl from Jaisalmer. She is a medical student from a small town, which is very highly influenced by tourism. Vidya Balan needs a tutor

Vidya Balan is one of those method actors who love to get into the skin of their roles. She has portrayed different roles in her previous films and now she is all set to play vamp from Uttar Pradesh in Vishal Bhardwaj’s forthcoming film Ishqiya. Apparently the decision to learn the correct UP dialect was mutual. Ishqiya will be directed by Vishal’s assistant Abhishek Chaubey. Reportedly Ishqia is about three romantic personalities played by Arshad, Vidya and Naseer. Interestingly Arshad and Naseer will be seen as uncle and nephew in the film. It is story of a scheming con woman played by Vidya who takes Arshad and Naseer on a royal ride.

Imran Khan,Minissha Lamba go underwater

That Minissha Lamba is a water baby is evident from the promos of Kidnap, which show her swimming and relaxing on the beachside. But who would have thought Imran Khan would parallel his co-star while they were shooting for the film in Mauritius?

It seems Imran and Minissha have shot a chilling underwater sequence in the film, which is among the highlights of the film and also the point when she gets kidnapped. Both the actors rehearsed for the scene for almost a fortnight before taking the 'dive'.

Confirms director Sanjay Gadhvi, ''We trained in Mumbai in a pool. It was an elaborate shoot with a dedicated  
  
underwater DOP and a standby team of divers for rescue. I've used the same underwater specialists as the ones used in Dhoom 2. While shooting the scene I was on the boat watching the shot on the monitor, which was attached to the underwater camera by cables. We had special communication equipment through which Imran and Minissha could hear me say 'action' and 'cut' while they were underwater.''

Aishwarya Rai packed uped from ROBOT shooting in hurry

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Bachchan is currently wrapping her Robot film shoot in hurry to arrive back in India, just to be with her hubby Abhishek Bachchan on October 1st for his film Drona's premiere in Mumbai.

Confirming us the news, Aish's secretary Hari Singh said, "Aishwarya was in Peru till last week for a song shoot of Shankar's Enthiran (formerly called Robot) starring South Superstar Rajinikanth. Now presently she is shooting for the film in the rain forests of Brazil. She wants to be with Abhishek's side on his big day on October 1st. She is as excited as him to check him out in his first super hero avatar."
  
One can remember, Abhishek making a late entry for Aishwarya's Jodhaa Akbar premiere held on February 14th at the Imax Multiplex in Wadala, Mumbai. Abhishek was shooting in Jaipur that time for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Dilli 6. He was to reach on time but a flight delay made him arrive at the venue at around 11:30 pm just when the film was about to finish.

But Aish won't be late and will attend the premiere along with Abhi. As Hari Singh has added, "Aishwarya will be reaching Mumbai a night before the premiere."

A source further added, "Before the grand premiere, a special show will be kept just for the Bachchans. Amitabh and Jaya early next week at a Mumbai preview theatre by director Goldie Behl. Goldie is like family to the Bachchans and he wants to show them the film first before anyone else. Abhishek is a bundle of nerves and would most probably avoid being present at this special show.

Aishwarya and Abhishek as Mumtaz and Shah Jahan

Aishwarya Rai has been offered to play the part of Mumtaz Mahal at least five times, the latest being for a film produced by Ben Kingsley and featuring him in the lead.

But all the projects have fallen through.But now industry insiders tell us that a major production house - one that has worked with both Ash and Abhi - is seriously thinking of casting Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan as Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan respectively.

Says a source from the production house, “After seeing how effectively Abhishek has carried off his ‘period’ look in Drona, we seriously want to cast Aishwarya and Abhishek in a period film.”

Incidentally, there seems to be an indelible link between Abhishek Bachchan and the Taj Mahal.

No other present-day actor has shot so often at Agra. In the past five years, Abhishek has already shot five times at the Taj Mahal!

“That’s true,” says Abhishek, having just returned from his latest sojourn at the Taj Mahal for Rakeysh Mehra’s Dilli 6.

Abhishek reels out the number of films he has shot at the Taj Mahal, “The first time I shot at the Taj Mahal was for one of my earliest films Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya, followed by Bunty Aur Babli. The following year, we shot Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom in Agra. And then last year during Aishwarya’s birthday I was shooting my cellphone advertisement in Agra. And now I was there for Rakeysh’s film. It’s quite uncanny.”

So much for Abhi’s tryst with the Taj Mahal. Now, if only his project where he plays Shah Jahan comes through, the romance will be quite complete!

By now its common knowledge that gorgeous Priyanka Chopra plays Abhishek Bachchan's bodyguard in the fantasy adventure Drona. Priyanka would be seen doing some deadly action sequences in the film which opens across cinema halls on October 2.

While Priyanka didn't have any real problems doing the stunts all by herself, she got a little nervous when she came to know that she would have to ride a horse for one of the sequences in the film.

Strangely, no one on the sets of Drona knew that Priyanka is scared of riding a horse. Hence, the nervous look on her face on the day of the actual shoot came as a shock to all the crew members present.

Explaining this amusing incident, director Goldie Behl recalls, "Since the day we started shooting for Drona, Priyanka was very confident about all her action and fighting scenes. She was very confident until we started shooting for this scene where she was supposed to ride a horse."

"She suddenly got very edgy with the idea of riding a horse; that was when we realized that Priyanka was actually scared of horses. The horse sequence was very prominent for the scene, hence we couldn't think of not having it. After a creative discussion, Priyanka finally agreed and actually shot for the entire sequence. Once the camera rolled, no one could make out that she was scared and I must say she shot like a pro."Looks like after this incident Priyanka has surely emerged a much stronger and braver girl.

After Bipasha Basu, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Podukone and Preity Zinta, beauty queen-turned-Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan joins the host of celebrities to appear on the cover of the fashion and lifestyle magazine Vogue India.Sporting an au naturale look without any accessories in a new slim avatar, Aishwarya was photographed by ace lens man Farrokh Chothia for the October issue of the magazine, dubbed as the Glamour issue.The shoot was done in London that was the last leg of the recently concluded her father-in-law, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s “Unforgettable” world tour.

“Doing the Vogue cover was a promise I made to Anaita (Shroff Adajania) right from the time she joined the Vogue. Anaita was having a baby and she wanted me to do it before she delivers,” Aishwarya told from London. She added: “I was to do this shoot last month but I fell ill before I left for the world tour. So, we crossed notes and managed to do it on time in London just after we finished almost the last show of the tour.”

Aamir Khan who is just back from shooting in Ladhkh for Raj Kumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots , rekindled the rumours of the Saif and Kareena marriage.

On speaking about the rumours of Saif and Kareena’s marriage, Aamir said, “Kareena and I were in Ladakh but Saif did not turn up. Even I heard that he would be coming. Then we completed the shooting and Kareena left. Where and when Saif and Kareena met after that, I don’t know. If they got married also, I am not aware about it.”

It is believed that Saif was with his lady love and surprised her on her birthday last Sunday. He especially flew to Srinagar to celebrate the special day with Bebo.

The two reportedly became close while shooting for Tashan , when the reports of them being a couple started pouring. However, they made their relationship public for the first time at Manish Malhotra's grand finale show at the Lakme Fashion Week Spring-Summer '07.

Imraan refuses Yashraj banner

Imraan Khan does not want to go the Hrithik Roshan way. Like Hrithik, Imraan had a great debut. But unlike Hrithik, Imraan does not want to sign on any film coming his way even if they are from big banners. Hrithik signed with reknowned banners like Subhash Ghai(Yaadein), Sooraj Barjatiya(Mein Prem Ki Diwani Hoon) and Kunal Kohli(Mujhse Dosti Karoge) and all of them bombed. And Inran certainly does not want to follow that route.

If sources are to be believed the actor has just turned down a subject offered to him by the Yashraj banner with the reason that he did not like the script. Imraan was approached by Aditya Chopra a few months before the release of his debut film Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Naa with three story ideas. Imraan approved one of them which was then sent to the writers to be further scripted.

However just few weeks back a narration was given to him but the actor did not quite like it.

Imraan Khan who is eagerly awaiting the release of his second film when asked if Yashraj approached him with the project, said `` I don't think it is right to talk about projects that are not confirmed.''

When quizzed further if the project that was offered to him was not liked by him and apparently has said no to the film, Imraan said, `` I don't think it is right to talk about projects that are either in development or a project that did not happen. As it stands today I have no commitments after Delhi belly.''

The news is that now Shankar has renamed the film as ‘Enthiram’.

Recently, Rajnikanth and Ash shot a song for the film at the UNESCO declared world famous heritage site Machu Pichhu. Shankar also plans to shoot for the film at exotic locations of Peru, South America etc. The music director of the film is A R Rahman and boasts of having ace cameraman Rathnavelu in the team as well.

While Mary E Vogt, the well known designer who has worked in Hollywood movies like Men in Black, Batman Returns and Inspector Gadget will be designing the scientific outfits for the sci-fi movie, the animatronics of the film will be handled by the Stan Winston Studio (USA), which was responsible for the impressive animation sequences in movies such as Predator, Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbor, Iron man and the Terminator. The visual effects and animatronics co-ordination will be done by Indian Artiste.

Stunt director Yuen Woo Ping, who made audiences gasp with his stunts in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Matrix and Kill Bill, has been put in charge of the action sequences of the movie.

Kajol, SRK together again

It’s been a long time that Bollywood's most desirable jodi Shahrukh and Kajol appeared together. Before they come jointly in Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan due 2009, the sizzling duo will very soon make their appearance in Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi for a dance number. Her role will be almost similar to Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna i.e. momentary as debutante Anuksha Sharma will play SRK's leading lady.

Aditya and Shahrukh are among Kajol's closest buddies and so when Aditya called her up for the cameo, she did not take a second to give her nod. The song will be shot in Mumbai and it will be filmed in Punjabi folk set. Anuksha will also appear in one of the verses of the same song.

Rakhi Sawant to lead cheeleaders in ICL

Despite all the hue and cry, cheerleaders are here to stay in cricket. The Indian Cricket League (ICL) Tuesday has chosen Bollywood’s sex siren Rakhi Sawant to lead its cheerleaders’ squad ICL Zeebras which will be present at every match of the second season of the league that begins at Hyderabad Oct 10. There are eight other cheerleaders in Rakhi’s team- Ritika, Preeti, Jessica, Geeta, Richa, Sharvari, Jayshree and Sangeeta. They will perform across all the match venues of Gurgaon, Panchkula, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. Sawant has personally auditioned and hand-picked the squad members and their performances will be designed by a Mumbai-based choreographer.

“Cheerleading is not just tamasha (mindless drama). It is a sport by itself. Until now, it was the exclusive domain of the international cheerleading troupes. But, thanks to ICL, this country will now have an indigenous cheerleaders’ squad,” Sawant said in the statement.

“It was after my performance at Panchkula during ICL’s Season 1 that I saw a huge opportunity for a possible Indian cheerleading squad,” the actress said.

“That dialogue resumed a few months later and culminated in the formation of the ICL Zeebras. I can’t wait to don my Zeebra outfit and break into a jig every time Rohan (Gavaskar) or Raviraj (Patil) hits a six. I am sure, this will be one cheerleading squad that the country will remember for a long time,” she added.

Shariq Patel, ICL’s senior vice president (Marketing & Operations), said. “Cheerleaders have a significant role to play in the modern context of sports. The ICL Zeebras squad includes some extremely talented and graceful dancers. I am confident that this synergistic initiative between cricket and entertainment will formulate a completely new experience for sports fans of the country.”
