Shammi and Shashi Kapoor In Critical Condition !

They are known as the First Family of Bollywood and rightly so. We are indeed talking about the Kapoor family. On one hand, while their ‘latest entrant’ Ranbir Kapoor is going great guns, the two of the elderly lot (A.K.A yesteryears heartthrobs) Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor are not in the best of their health.

It was only last month that Shammi Kapoor (who was suffering from acute kidney failure) developed high fever, while he was still in hospital, and was admitted in the ICU. On the other hand, Shahsi Kapoor too got admitted in a city hospital. Reportedly, the common factor of them both is that, both the actors have requested their families to discharge them from their respective hospitals, so that they can spend some more time with their families. Reports also have it that both the doyens have strictly expressed their desires that not to be taken abroad for treatment.

We wishes both the Kapoors a speedy recovery.

‘4th Idiot’ in the making

Not exactly a sequel to Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘3 Idiots’ but just an inspiration of the movie. ‘ The 4th Idiot’ is a movie of course but not a feature film but an animated film that will entertain the kids and the adults alike.

Produced by Biswaroop Roy Chowdhary, ‘The 4th Idiot’ is an inspiration of the ‘3 Idiots’ but is completely a new story with new star cast, but the only thing that will be part of the new movie from the old one is, the voice accent of  ‘Chatur Ramalingam’, the nerd who tries to speak ‘shudh’ Hindi.

Further divulging in to details, the makers of the film say that the main character of the movie is an intelligent boy named ‘Pappu’ who studies in a school that is similar to Amir Khan’s school in ‘3 Idiots’, where students are highly innovative. The voice over for ‘Pappu’ is by Omi Vaidya who acted as ‘Chatur Ramalingam’.

Interestingly the producers have decided to premiere the movie at World Unity Convention Centre, Lucknow. They added saying what is not known to most of them is that the World’s largest school ‘The City Montessori School’ is in Lucknow. Now that’s even better news!

Dharmendra admitted to hospital due to chest pain

Popular actor of yesteryears and former MP Dharmendra was Wednesday admitted to the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education (PGIMER) here following chest pain.

Doctors at the PGIMER said that the actor`s health was being monitored and he was being kept under observation. He had complained of fatigue and chest pain Wednesday.

A PGIMER spokesperson said that the actor was being examined by doctors at the institute and he would be discharged shortly.

Dharmendra has been in various places in Punjab to shoot his new Hindi film "Yamla Pagla Deewana". Both his sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol are also acting in this movie.

Dharmendra, who hails from Sahnewal town near the industrial city of Ludhiana, 110 km from here, was a popular Bollywood hero in the 1960s and 1970s. He was the main lead in the Bollywood blockbuster `Sholay`.

Michael Jackson to be buried in Islamic tradition?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If reports are to be believed, Michael Jackson, the deceased pop icon, might get a burial in Islamic tradition.

In late 2008, Jackson converted to Islam and adopted the Muslim name Mikaeel which was meant as a reference to the name of one of Allah's angels.

“The family is considering the Muslim burial traditions because they believe Michael would have wanted to be laid to rest in keeping with his new-found religious beliefs,” aceshowbiz.com quoted a source as saying.

Michael's brother Jermaine is educating the family as to the special rites because he feels it's important to bury his brother according to the Muslim way,” added the source.

So far Jackson’s family has only confirmed that the King of Pop will not have a memorial service and public viewing at his fantasy abode Neverland, as was reported in media earlier.

However, the family hasn’t ruled out a public memorial but there has been no official confirmation yet from Jackson's family on the location where his body will be laid to rest.

The entertainment industry grieves at the loss of Michael Jackson

The music and glamour world suffered a grave loss in the late afternoon hours of this Thursday on the 25th of June as it witnessed the death of 50 years old legendary star Michael Jackson. He breathed his last at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. His death probably took place due to an overdose of drugs followed by a cardiac arrest. There was large scale mourning on the death of this superstar with people gathering at Harlem, Apollo Theatre and Times Square in New York, his home town of Gary, Indiana and everywhere else in the country.

Jackson was preparing for an epic 50-concert program in London, the first of which was on July 13th, but now the star will never be seen performing again. Michael Jackson was born on Aug. 29, 1958 in Gray, Indiana. He started his musical career with his brothers, at the age of 11. His greatest creation which tasted the highest success was his album ‘Thriller’ in 1982. By touching a record sale of 65 million copies it has been the highest selling album of all time and is still going.

‘Slumdog’ kid Rubina Ali ’s father wanted to become a millionaire by selling his daughter, reports a British news website after it carried a sting operation. According to the News of The World, in a desperate bid to escape from a life of slum and poverty, Rafiq Qureshi, the father of Rubina Ali put her up for adoption in lieu of 2,00,000 pounds.However, when asked, Qureshi denied any such kind of a report and said, “These reports are not true. I went to the hotel to shoot an ad film. I would never sell my daughter. I met a man who spoke in Arabic. I didn’t understand him.” Rafiq said that he was purportedly offered such a deal by the undercover journalists who posed as an affluent Dubai based family.

Rafiq said that he told the phony sheikh, "I have to consider what’s best for me, my family and Rubina’s future."According to the website, Rafiq blamed Hollywood bosses for pushing him to put his daughter up for sale.Rafiq’s brother Mohiuddin also seconded the former and said, "The child is special now. This is not an ordinary child. This is an Oscar child!" Rafiq, a Mumbai slum dweller is desperate to cash his daughter’s enormous success courtesy ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ by apparently selling Rubina to the highest offers.News of The World said that they came to know about Rafiq’s plan by a former neighbour, who told them that Rubina’s father was desperate to sell his daughter to the highest bidder in his effort to escape the life of Bandra slum and he was in touch with a Middle East family for the same. Nine-year-old Rubina shot to fame by playing the young Latika in Danny Boyle’s film, which picked up eight Oscars besides earning millions at the box office. Britney Spears is coming to India

Saucy popstar Britney Spears is coming to India for a short hush-hush trip.Amid rumours of her dating Paris Hilton’s ex beau, Benji Madden, Britney is set to fly to India for a two-day practice session with renowned Indian choreographer Sandip Soparrkar for the new video of her hit track ‘Womanizer’.

Britney will reshoot the video of the hit single from her latest album ‘Circus’ after the song’s first video leaked on the Internet. If reports are to be believed, Britney was pretty impressed by Soparrkar’s choreography with his partner Jesse Randhawa on Madonna’s 50th birthday recently.Soparrkar has confirmed to an Indian newspaper that the curvy popstar is set to arrive in Jodhpur, in the royal state of Rajasthan, for “rehearsals”.

The choreographer also revealed that the singer was looking forward to try Indian food, especially the curry. She is also eager to get a glimpse of Rajasthani culture, especially the folk music and the traditional dance ghumaar.

Reports also have it that Britney might extend her trip a bit to visit the places in Mumbai that were hit by the recent terror attacks. But that is just speculation at this point.

Michael Jackson fighting for his life?

According to a British newspaper, pop legend Michael Jackson is suffering from a rare lung condition and is "close to death". The Sunday Express quoted Ian Halperin, who is penning a biography on the singer, as saying that Jackson needs to undergo an emergency transplant operation but he is too weak to be rushed into surgery and may even be fighting for his life. According to Halperin, 50-year-old Jackson has been diagnosed with alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency, a genetic condition that can be fatal in severe cases, and the singer is now so ill he can barely speak and has lost as much as 95 per cent of the vision in his left eye. "He has had alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency for years but it’s gotten worse. He needs a lung transplant but may be too weak to go through with it…He also has emphysema and chronic gastrointestinal bleeding, which his doctors have had a lot of trouble stopping.

“It’s the bleeding that’s the most problematic part. It could kill him," Halperin said. Author Halperin has also claimed that Jackson’s lung conditions, which affects only one in 5,000 Americans, has been difficult to treat due to its associated health problems.

"For years, Michael has been working with his own doctors to try to make sure it doesn’t progress. He has been on many medications that have stabilised him," he was quoted by the British newspaper as saying.

Though Jackson’s official spokeswoman wouldn’t comment on Halperin’s claims but his elder brother Jermaine seemed to have confirmed that the singer has serious health issues."He is not doing so well right now. This isn’t a good time," he told Fox TV News.

Kerala government stops Mani Ratnam's shooting!

The Kerala Forest Department has stopped the shoot of Mani Ratnam’s Ravana in Hindi and Tamil in the forest areas of Mulankuzhi in Malayatoor forest range near Kochi in Kerala.

The beautiful green Mulankuzhi forest in Malayatoor where film shooting has not been allowed so far is a prime spot for eco-tourism. Mani it seems due to his political connections with the CPI (M) government in Kerala was given special permission to shoot in this virgin forest area.

However the forest officials found that Mani had constructed temporary thatched huts in prohibited areas inside the forest, after five days of shoot. So on Friday (Oct 10) evening after the forest department found the violation, they immediately ordered the shooting to be stopped. The film unit claim that they had put up the temporary huts to put their costly equipments from the incessant rains in the area.

Mani was given special permission to shoot for 25 days, and he had only shot five days for the Tamil version with Vikram, Pritviraj, Priyamani and others. Now since the unit has been found to violate forest laws, the special sanction has been withdrawn and Mani has been asked to vacate from the forest land.

Meanwhile the environmentalist in Kerala has also been up in arms, and they are asking uncomfortable question on why Mani was given special permission to shoot in Mulankuzhi forest area?
