Rakhi Sawant “No thought of getting married anytime soon”!

Rakhi Sawant, who had her “swayamwar” on television but broke off her engagement, says she has no plans to get married soon because she is too busy with work.

“I have not thought of getting married anytime soon. I have been doing a lot of shows. And now I am doing my own ‘Rakhi Ka Insaaf’. So I am very busy with my work,” Rakhi told reporters via video conference here.

In her new show on NDTV Imagine starting Oct 16, the 31-year-old will be talking to families in a bid to resolve their problems related to dowry, extramarital affairs, divorce and property disputes.

“Whatever cases have come to us, we have thoroughly looked into them and collected evidence before taking them up. I don’t know about the law but I would be making judgment with my heart,” she said.

Rakhi is unfazed although Bollywood action hero Akshay Kumar’s comeback show “Master Chef India” will also kickstart on Star Plus Oct 16, luckily at a different time.

The item girl insists her show is the best. “Mera show sabhi shows ka baap hai (My show is the best of all),” she said.

Rakhi was the star of the reality show “Rakhi Ka Swayamvar”, where she selected Canadian businessman Elesh Parujanwala as her life-partner and teamed up with him in another reality show. “Pati, Patni Aur Woh”. But post “Pati…”, the two parted ways.

Rakhi’s ‘bloody’ challenge to the censors

The firebrand media darling of India Miss Rakhi Sawant wants to take the censors for task for their ‘bloody’ ignorance. The head of the once Bollywood sleaze who has now being transformed into an household bliss which many resident and non-resident Indians wanna marry (thanks to the sawayamber on the small tube) is doing aerobics with anger and frustration. The damsel is pissed off with the authorities of the Indian censored board and their gyan.

The Censor Board has blown the daylights out of Rakhi and ishQ, with a diktat that they need to delete or bleep out the word ‘kamine’ from the mukhda (opening verse) of their video ‘Bhoot’ from the music album ‘Jhagde’ done in association with India’s mad-max music import from Canada ishQ Bector, The words of the song go “Kamine tera bhoot chad gaya re” is in question and the censor wants the word ‘Kaminey’ to be either deleted or beeped.

But Rakhi’s already singing a new tune, “This is cruelty. The Censor Board needs brain surgery,’ she shoots, and in her trademark style, breaks into a ‘modified’ song, “Censor Board tera bhoot chad gaya re.”

While Rakhi is taking a straight dig at the Board, ishQ, who has written the lyrics, apart from singing and composing the album, is furious too. “The word ‘kamine’ has been passed so many times in umpteen films earlier. What’s the point of banning it now,” he justifies.

No marriage for Rakhi-Elesh

Rakhi is not going to marry the winner of her Swayamwar Elesh, she says its the series of irreconciable differences behind her decision.

A close friend of Rakhi says, “They were never really meant to marry. In the last episode of Pati Patni Aur Woh, they will declare that they’ve called off their marriage.”

When Rakhi was asked the same, she did not reveal whether she will marry Elesh or not, but said, Bahut farq hai hum dono mein. Elesh and I belong to different cultures.

He thinks West, while I think East. I don’t think an Indian girl should marry a boy with Western values (sic). During this new reality show, there were a lot of ups and downs between Elesh and me… well, there were more downs than ups.”

What about Swayamwar 2 Rakhi?

Rakhi Sawant's fiance is busy in arranging Canadian visa for her!

Rakhi Ka Swayamvar Elesh Parujanwala, rakhi sawant

Instead of hosting a grand party following his win on “Rakhi Ka Swayamvar”, 30-year-old Elesh Parujanwala is busy arranging a Canadian visa for his fianceé Rakhi Sawant, so that they can attend his sister's wedding together in Toronto.
"I'm heading back to Toronto soon. As of now, I am busy trying to arrange a visa for Rakhi. My sister is getting married on August 16 and it would be really great if both of us would be there. It would be like twin celebration for my family,” Elesh, who was the only NRI contestant on Rakhi's 'swayamvar', told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

Last year Elesh set up an acting academy with his business partner in Kandivali, Mumbai. But soon “Rakhi Ka Swayamvar” came up and he decided to “probe into the real Rakhi Sawant” through the show.

“Nothing was planned about coming on the show. I guess, I happened to be at the right place at the right time -- that's all. Everyone had an opinion about her and I wanted to find out who she really is,” said Elesh, a Gujarati settled in Toronto.

So what did he find out?

"Rakhi aces all the categories that I ever wanted in my woman. She is simply genuine and I love that about her. When I saw her first, she looked stunning and gorgeous,” he said.

Elesh, who was among 16 aspirants who came to court Rakhi on NDTV Imagine's reality show, says it feels “amazing” to have been chosen as the “ideal groom”. But he wants to wait before he ties the nuptial knot with Rakhi.

"We have decided to spend sometime together off the camera and know each other better. We have gotten engaged as of now, but there's still time before we get married," he said.

And before the bride and groom do that, they need to brush up their English and Hindi language skills respectively. While Elesh manages to speak broken Hindi and a bit of Gujarati, Rakhi doesn't have a good grip on English.

Won't communicating be a problem?

"I can understand a bit of Hindi. And I mix up the vocabulary a bit, besides stumbling upon certain words, I'll get a hang of it soon. As far as Rakhi is concerned, I can help her with her English -- she can help me with Hindi -- and it would be a team effort. Together, I think we would make a good 'Team Toronto',” he quipped.

Rakhi Sawant chooses her life partner on national television

Rakhi Ka Swayamvar

There are only five left in the arena and she will marry only one. But Rakhi Sawant will keep fast for all the remaining five guys in the show ‘Rakhi Ka Swayamvar’ and will offer prayers, so that she can take the right decision on the W-Day.

It may seem weird, but Rakhi will observe Karva Chauth for all the men and what’s remarkable is that the mothers of the prospective grooms will help her do so. They will guide Rakhi to break the fast in traditional ways. Not only that, the boys, too, have decided to keep the fast to show their respect and support to Rakhi.

The prospective sasu mas of Rakhi were present on the show and discussed their family traditions and culture apart from sharing some cooking recipes with Rakhi. They also brought gifts for her, which were happily accepted. However, Elesh Parujanwala’s mother, who stays in Toronto, couldn’t make it for the show.

Among 16 contenders now only Luv Khanna, Manas Katyal, Chhitiz Jain, Manmohan Tiwari and Elesh Parujanwala are left. Rakhi took the nation by storm when she came out with this reality show to choose her life partner on national television.

‘Rakhi Ka Swayamvar’ is reigning in the prime slot with good TRPs.

Rakhi Sawant to lead cheeleaders in ICL

Despite all the hue and cry, cheerleaders are here to stay in cricket. The Indian Cricket League (ICL) Tuesday has chosen Bollywood’s sex siren Rakhi Sawant to lead its cheerleaders’ squad ICL Zeebras which will be present at every match of the second season of the league that begins at Hyderabad Oct 10. There are eight other cheerleaders in Rakhi’s team- Ritika, Preeti, Jessica, Geeta, Richa, Sharvari, Jayshree and Sangeeta. They will perform across all the match venues of Gurgaon, Panchkula, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. Sawant has personally auditioned and hand-picked the squad members and their performances will be designed by a Mumbai-based choreographer.
“Cheerleading is not just tamasha (mindless drama). It is a sport by itself. Until now, it was the exclusive domain of the international cheerleading troupes. But, thanks to ICL, this country will now have an indigenous cheerleaders’ squad,” Sawant said in the statement.
“It was after my performance at Panchkula during ICL’s Season 1 that I saw a huge opportunity for a possible Indian cheerleading squad,” the actress said.
“That dialogue resumed a few months later and culminated in the formation of the ICL Zeebras. I can’t wait to don my Zeebra outfit and break into a jig every time Rohan (Gavaskar) or Raviraj (Patil) hits a six. I am sure, this will be one cheerleading squad that the country will remember for a long time,” she added.
Shariq Patel, ICL’s senior vice president (Marketing & Operations), said. “Cheerleaders have a significant role to play in the modern context of sports. The ICL Zeebras squad includes some extremely talented and graceful dancers. I am confident that this synergistic initiative between cricket and entertainment will formulate a completely new experience for sports fans of the country.”
