Nandana to undergo hip surgery

During the shooting of Tips Films’ Prince with Vivek Oberoi , Nandana Sen sustained a serious hip injury. Now in deep pain the Rang Rasiyaactress might have to cancel film shooting in New York for urgent hip surgery. Nandana injured her hip during a fight sequence. “These things happen during a film. Can’t be avoided. My joint has sustained a major labrium tear. Only surgery can rectify it, and the soonest possible,” said the actress. Nandana got temporary surgery done so that her shooting doesn’t get disrupted. “It was a bit complicated and very painful.

Steroid was administered directly into the injury track by scanning machines. It should work for two weeks.” Although her worried family has advised her against it, Nandana hopes to complete Prince in these two weeks before going for the final surgery. “I don’t want the shooting to suffer. But I’m suffering. Shakira was right. Hips don’t lie.”

Nandana Sen says no to nude scene

It’s something unexpected from someone like Nandana Sen who has done some dare-bare scenes in the past. But the lady refused to sign an international project to be directed by Italian director Italo Spinelli because of nudity.

Nandana is not ready to do this film, which requires her to bare her skin once again. The film is based on eminent Bengali writer Mahasweta Devi’s short story ‘Behind the Bodice’ (Choli ke Picche). Nandana was approached for playing a tribal woman of 1950’s era when poor rural women used to just wrap sari on their body without a blouse.

The project is however a desirable one, but Nandana’s apprehension for the film is evident with this quoted statement, “It’s a powerful story and although I support it fully I feel the subject matter is such that the tribal girl’s nudity cannot avoid becoming unintentionally voyeuristic and exoticised even though that is definitely not the objective.” Or may be the actress doesn’t want to indulge in nudity for another film right after Ketan Mehta’s Rang Rasiya in which she plays the muse of legendary painter Raja Ravi Verma, played by Randeep Hooda and poses nude for his paintings. And since the movie deals with the subject of censorship of art, nudity was at the very core of the film. Nandana’s scenes in the yet-to-be released film are not obscene and were shot aesthetically. The actress had showed her bareback in the movie Tango Charlie too.

After Nandana’s no, the movie has been pushed to the next year. Post Slumdog Millionaire many westerners are apparently keen to make movies in India.

Nandana Sen’s a topless wonder in ‘Rang Rasiya’!

Nandana Sen is a bold chick.Her fans are in for a pleasant surprise as she has indulged in full frontal nudity (well, almost) in the movie.

Her fans are in for a pleasant surprise actually, thanks to her bold ways. The lady will reportedly be seen fully naked from her waist above in her much talked about Ketan Mehta flick ‘Rang Rasiya’.

Well, initially people thought that the Censor Board would cut the scene but now the buzz is that Nandana Sen’s assets will be witnessed by all and sundry.

Nandana has reportedly said, “I’m not surprised by the decision at all. That scene forms the very core of the film. ‘Rang Rasiya’ is itself about censorship of art. The political message as well as the emotional drama in our film revolves entirely around that particular scene, making it absolutely essential to the narrative.”

She’s added, “Everyone who has seen the film has commented to us about how the scene complements the film, so why would the censor board think any differently?” -
