Dhoom 3, a franchise film that gets bigger with very version is now creating a stir. After announcing that the film will have Aamir Khan playing the baddie, there had been a lot of speculations about the female lead.

Later Katrina Kaif was said to be finalized, which added a lot of attention for the first time fresh pairing. An international celeb is also said to be roped in but that is unsure.

The latest buzz is that Rajinikanth might do a cameo in this YRF film produced by Yash Chopra & Aditya Chopra. After doing a cameo appearance in Shahrukh Khan's Ra.One, there has been a lot of talk on Aamir roping in Superstar Rajinikanth for Dhoom 3.

It is said that Rajini has been approached for a chief antagonist role and the makers thought he would fit well, after watching him play the negative shaded robot in Endhiran ( Robot).

However we hear that Rajini is skeptical and might not take up the role, as people feel that his negative role will not go down with his fans, considering his larger-than-life image. They also point out that in Endhiran he played good as well as bad and that it why it had worked, but doing a complete negative role is not acceptable.

Certain reports also mock the idea, considering the fate of Shahrukh Khan's Ra.One which featured Rajini in a very small cameo, that did not go down well with his fans that received a lot of flak for the film. And so it also suggest that Dhoom 3 makers need to think over on this idea of having Rajini do a cameo or at least give him a substantial role.

Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom 3 has finally started rolling after few delays on the casting and other front. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra reprise their series regular roles in the film. Katrina Kaif is the leading lady of the film opposite Aamir Khan. As a last minute surprise, Jackie Shroff has become one of the cast members (reportedly, he is playing an integral part in the movie). It’s been noted that Jackie and Aamir share screen space after long 17 years (remember Rangeela?). Katrina Kaif is also said to have gone through rigorous physical training for the movie, in fact Salman Khan was helping her with the fitness, we hear.

Today Vidya is compared with Aamir Khan for her perfectionism and acting caliber and industry started to call her by this name. Aamir himself expressed his desire to work with talented Vidya Balan but at the same time thinks that Vidya does not require any tag and should be called by her real name only.

Yashraj Films is planning to take Dhoom series to a new level! They have already started Dhoom 3 with Aamir Khan, who is going to play a stylish baddie for the first time in the film. And now reports have it that the forthcoming Dhoom 4 and 5 will have Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan playing the villains in the two parts, respectively.

Can anything sound better than this? As a daily reports, Aditya Chopra has planned to wrap up the franchise with the fifth part, and has already decided to cast Salman Khan in the fourth part and YRF’s blue-eyed man Shahrukh Khan in the fifth. However, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will continue to play their respective roles of Inspector Jai Dixit and his sidekick Ali. Director of Dhoom 3, Vijay Krishna Acharya of Tashan fame, will be working on the script for both the sequels.

Moreover, there is a great piece of news for the Salman Khan fans. Salman has reportedly discussed Dhoom 4 with Aditya Chopra and has agreed to do it.

“Salman Khan wanted to work in a stylish action film. And Adi had discussed the possibility of Dhoom 4 with him. Salman had agreed. That’s how they ended up working on Ek Tha Tiger. The script of Dhoom 4 is already locked,” a source shares the tidbit with a daily.

But it seems there is more to Aditya Chopra’s big plans. As for now, we don’t want to be a killjoy for Salman and Shahrukh’s fans.

Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao has named their first baby boy Azad. The couple had taken the route of surrogacy and the boy was born on the 1st of December at a private hospital in Mumbai.

Aamir Khan wrote on his Twitter page, “Hey guys, most excited to share with y’all that we have finally chosen a name for our baby boy... Azad. Azad Rao Khan. I left the final choice to Kiran, and she has named him after my great grand uncle Maulana Azad, the freedom fighter, whom the family is most proud of. Azad means free or liberated. We want to thank everyone for their warm wishes and blessings, and needless to say we are absolutely overjoyed and feel most blessed.”

Other celebrity guests to attend the dinner were music maestro A.R.Rehman, Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhter. Aamir was overwhelmed when he came to know that the First Lady Michelle Obama has danced to the title number of his blockbuster ‘Rang De Basanti’ in the morning.

He was bombarded with questions from the media persons as soon as he came out at around 10 p.m. “President Obama said he has heard a lot about my work and my films, ” said Aamir adding, “It (the dinner) was an opportunity to meet big personalities. I am a big fan of Manmohan-ji and I am happy that he called me up.”

James Cameron wants to work with Aamir Khan

The director of two of the highest-grossing films in the history of cinema, Titanic and Avatar, Cameron shared the stage with the actor known as 'Mr Perfectionist' at the India Today Conclave 2010 in New Delhi and said that he was honoured to do so.

When speaking about the meeting of Western filmdom with India's own Bollywood, Aamir said that he has not yet been a part of a Hollywood film, to which Cameron quickly replied, "We could fix that as soon as possible."

Aamir too expressed his admiration for the Terminator director saying that he came to listen to him and learn as much as possible.

The director and the actor have a lot in common, including the fact that they hold records for highest grossers.

While Cameron's 3-D sci-fi epic Avatar broke global box-office records, Aamir's 3 Idiots is the highest grossing Bollywood film of all time.

The two were speaking on the topic Future of Cinema at the conclave, where the audience included Cameron's wife actress Suzy Amis and Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Asin among others.

Shahrukh and Aamir labeled as “2 Idiots”!

Bollywood superstars Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan are under attack from Shiv Sena which has labeled the duo as “2 Idiots”.

First it was SRK who was under heat for supporting the inclusion of Pakistani cricketers in the IPL, and now it’s Aamir. On Friday, Aamir’s one comment infuriated the Sena, when he became vocal about the selection procedure of players in IPL and said that if he were to select players he would do so only on the basis of their performance and not nationality.

The party’s Hindi mouthpiece ‘Dopahar Ka Saamna’ said in a statement: “In real life, Aamir and Shah Rukh have been proved as ‘2 Idiots’ as both are making stupid statements supporting the cause of Pakistani cricketers.”

The party’s MP Sanjay Raut even said about Shahrukh that if the actor was so keen on them (Pak players), “he could go play his matches in Lahore, not in India.”

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Sena activists took a morcha to SRK’s residence Mannat. The vibhag pramukhs of Sena have also written to theatres owners in Mumbai, telling them not to screen Khan’s upcoming movie My Name Is Khan which releases on February 12.

Aamir Khan, who at present is in the US for the Sundance Film Festival, said it was “wonderful” to be chosen for the honour and thanked his fans and well wishers for their support.

My film ‘Peepli Live’ gets superb response at the Sundance Film Festival and then I receive this wonderful news of getting Padma Bhushan. I wish I was back home right now.”

Looks like Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has become fond of Chennai as he keeps visiting the place regularly. Recently, after his visit to Chennai, he headed for Mahabalipuram disguising his looks.

As he went around seeing the sculptures, he got friendly with one guide. As Aamir was chatting with him, he revealed his true identity asking whether he knows him. But Mr. Perfectionist of Bollywood was a little disappointed when the guide came up with a reply that he is not aware of any actors.

Naturally, it was Aamir’s turn to bring his rival Shahrukh into the picture asking him whether he knows that actor, only to hear the same reply. The Aamir asked whether he never saw any Hindi films. The guide replied that he saw only one Hindi film ‘Shalimar’ and further added he knew only Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan.

Aamir Khan gifted him a ring before he left. The guide also told him that he also wanted to gift and presented Aamir with a small Ganapathy idol.

Away from the air-conditioned auditoriums or glitzy press conferences, Aamir Khan has been hitting the dusty roads in rural India to penetrate into the harsh reality most of the country folk live in. He’s on a two-week adventure trip throughout India as a part of 'Alternative Reality Game' to promote his upcoming film 3 Idiots.

After visiting Varanasi in the guise of an old man, Aamir on Monday reached the Chanderi district of Madhya Pradesh. This time he was accompanied with costar Kareena Kapoor.

The district is famous for its handloom textile weaving but the ancient craft has been gradually vanishing from the area.

Shedding their star persona, Aamir and Kareena interacted with the weavers. The visit provided them an insight into the plight of the craftsmen of Chanderi. Moved by the visit, both Aamir and Kareena swore to do their bit to save the handloom industry of the area from dying out.

The duo also spent an entire day and night at a small village called Pranpur.

“I want to create awareness among the youth to make handloom a more integral part of their wardrobe,” Khan told a news daily after his visit. He himself vowed to wear more handloom clothes.

Aamir Khan not to sign new films

Aamir Khan, who is currently busy promoting “3 Idiots”, has decided not to take any new acting assignments in 2010 because he wants to concentrate on his three home productions.

“Aamir had earlier decided to take one year off. But now he has decided to extend his sabbatical by one more year. Filmmakers who have approached him with projects have been told that Aamir intends to take approximately one more year to supervise the post-production and final look of his three films,” said a source close to the actor.

He wants put his home productions — Abhinay Deo’s “Delhi Belly”, Anushka Rizvi’s “The Falling” and his wife Kiran Rao’s directorial debut “Dhobi Ghat” — in order.

After the tough physical and emotional preparation for “Ghajini”, Aamir had decided to take one full year off to rejuvenate himself.

He also wanted to relax and spend time with his wife and children. That’s precisely what he has done for the last one year. But now Aamir would be taking one more year off because he feels all three projects need serious fine-tuning and have been delayed because he has been busy finishing and promoting director Rajkumar Hirani’s “3 Idiots”.

“The only way Aamir feels his three productions can be completed and released in 2010 is if he sets aside all his own acting assignments to look into them. So, he isn’t signing any films in 2010 either,” said the source

“It requires guts to say no to the best roles going in Bollywood and to a reported fee of approximately Rs.30 crore per film. But Aamir suffers no security pangs about not signing films. He told a friend he will work at his own pace, no matter what the temptation or provocation to take on extra work,” added the source.

New Delhi, Known for his experiments, Bollywood star Aamir Khan will now be seen in an animated avatar for the first time in a television commercial for Coca Cola.

Conceptualized by adman-turned-lyricist Prasoon Joshi along with Ashish Chakravarty, the ad has been shot by Abhijit Choudhary for the ‘Coca-Cola Open Happiness’ communication initiative.

“It is a very interesting concept as for the first time my features have been replicated as an animated character through special effects. I think the robotic animated look has really come out well in the film and I hope that my fans will like me in this new animated avatar,” said Aamir, Coca-Cola brand ambassador, in a statement released here Thursday.

The ad showcases two girls searching for their friend (Aamir) who is so engaged in playing videogames that he has become a part of the virtual world.

But when the girls open a bottle of the aerated beverage, Aamir starts to lose his focus from the game and is tempted to come out in real life. The ad ends with Aamir’s rival from the game, another animated character, also stepping into the real world to taste the drink.

The ad has been conceptualized by ad film-maker turned lyricist Prasoon Joshi along with creative guru  Ashish Chakravarty. The commercial has been shot by shot by Abhijit Choudhary for the Coca-Cola Open Happiness communication initiative.

Buzz up!Aamir Khan who has been the brand ambassador for Coke for many years now said that the concept of the ad was very interesting. He added that this was was for the features have been replicated as an animated character and hoped the fans would like him in the new animated avatar . Well let's see it an animated Aamir can soar the sale up for the cola giant.

Shah Rukh or Aamir – who gets the national award?

Though both Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan have proved themselves to be great actors with a huge fan following, the two have never won a national award for the Best Actor category.

This year could prove to be lucky to one of the actors as both have been nominated for the best actor category. While SRK has been nominated for his role in Chak De India, Aamir has been selected for playing the lead character in Taare Zameen Par.

They have not rubbed shoulders in reel life but Aamir Khan and Deepika Padukone seem to love positive competition. A couple days ago, Aamir beat Deepika in her own game.

Buzz up!Well, we are talking about the doubles badminton match between Deepika Padukone-(dad) Prakash Padukone and Aamir Khan-Aparna Popat at the annual tournament for the Padukone Academy. Prakash Padukone was once a badminton champion and Deepika too played the game at various levels before taking up modelling and films but Aamir's team defeated the father-daughter team.

Aamir said that Badminton is like ballet dancing, as it requires a lot of control, stamina and mental strength. He added that he has been addicted to the game ever since he started playing a few years ago.

Apart from badminton, Aamir also opened up on his look in his forthcoming film 3 Idiots, where he acts with Kareena Kapoor. He revealed that he has shed the Ghajini look for his role of a student in the new film. He assured that he would sport a distinct look in it like he does in all his films.
