Saif Ali Khan will never work with Deepika Padukone again!

The usually mild-mannered actor has not taken too kindly to Deepika's walking out of Abbas-Mustan's Race 2 at the eleventh hour, leaving the project in an awful predicament.

Things have gotten so uncomfortable between these two one-time profressional co-stars that their incomplete film -- tentatively titled Cocktail -- is suffering some stress in the final phase of shooting.

Says a friend of Saif, "It's really unfortunate that Deepika walked out of a film where her co-star was Saif. Saif has stood by her repeatedly. He gave her his home production Love Aaj Kal  selecting her over his lady love Kareena Kapoor.Then he signed Deepika for his second production Cocktail. It didn't stop there. Even when his well-wishers told him the pair was getting stale -- he signed Prakash Jha's  Aarakshan ."

Now Saif is perhaps justifiably feeling betrayed.

Says Saif's friend, "Saif worked with Deepika in three films. The least he expected was a certain amount of commitment to the fourth film that they had signed together, specially since this was the most expensive of the four films, and a franchise at that."

Adds the friend, "Saif is very upset with Deepika. He thinks her behaviour is unprofessional and uncool. Would she have walked out on the project if it had starred Shah Rukh , Salman or Aamir Khan ?"

People close to Saif feel Deepika's attitude towards the Saif-starrer did a turn-around the minute she signed films with Rajinikanth and Ranbir Kapoor.

Last week, Saif spoke to Race 2 producer Ramesh Taurani to work out an emergency plan. Apparently, Saif has told Taurani he is with the producer in any line of action adopted to tackle the crisis.

When contacted, Taurani conceded, "Of course Saif is with me on this issue. A case is already filed with CINTAA (Cine and Television Artistes Association) and AMPTPP (Association Of Motion Picture & TV Programme Producers). I am sure justice will prevail."

While Taurani tries to find a replacement quickly, we hear Kareena Kapoor just may re-adjust her dates to accommodate Race 2.

Katrina had tied up a scared thread in the shrine of Sheikh Salim Chisti during the shoot of ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’. This Monday, she visited the shrine to offer prayers and untie the sacred thread. Dressed in a black suit and a green scarf, Katrina arrived very early at the dargah and offered a chadar. Assisted by Khadim bhai and Shanu, she then untied a ‘dhaga’ (sacred thread) as fulfilment of her “mannat”.

ASI official Munnazzar Ali said, “This was the third time she came in recent months. She was shooting near the Tereh Mori Bandh with the Fatehpur Sikri ridge in the background for the film.”

Meanwhile, Deepika visited Ajmer Sharif dargah earlier this week to seek blessings. Attired in a simple Indian wear, she carried a cane-basket on her head, filled with flowers. While Katrina visited Sheikh Salim Chisti’s shrine for the third time, Deepika was seen at the Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti shrine at Ajmer for the first time.

The film is directed by debutant Rohit Dhawan, son of David Dhawan. The film is an action comedy and is set to get released on the 25th of November.

The film's music is scored by Pritam and is distributed by Eros Entertainment. The film Desi Boyz had plans of roping in Sonam Kapoor in the lead earlier. But since she turned down the offer,it was then offered to Anushka Sharma who too have rejected.

We also heard that the film used the website StarNow.com to recruit extras for filming. The film's theatrical trailer is said to be released alongside John Abraham's Force which is scheduled for release on the 16th of September.

Salman Khan wants Deepika Padukone for the remake of the South film “Bodygraud“. Buzz is that Atul Agnihotri’s remake of the South movie “Bodygraud” with brother in law Salman Khan will star Deepika Padukone. Katrina Kaif was Atul’s first choice but Sallu feels the Om Shanti Om girl is more apt for the role.

A source says, “Salman is keen on working with Deepika Padukone. He feels they will look good on screen. When Atul suggested Katrina’s name, he shot it down saying the project needed a fresh pairing. After accepting the invite on Twitter, Deepika met Shammi ji at his house in Walkeshwar on Tuesday. The actress took out time from her chock-a-bloc schedule to be with Shammi Kapoor and his entire family. Before that Deepika was in constant touch with her Shamsheraj Sir on Twitter to fix the coffee date. She wrote a few days back, “sir I’m shooting tomorrow. could we pls meet on the 6th of april if u are free at a time convenient to u?”

And as per reports, Deepika had coffee and dinner at Shammi Kapoor’s place and she was there for nearly two hours talking about her films and his films.

So, after having such a special date, how could she hold her emotions back while writing on Twitter?

Asin replaced Deepika?

Has Asin replaced Deepika Padukone in writer director Anees Bazmi’s next film with Salman Khan? Bollywood is abuzz that Asin has at last signed her third film by replacing Deepika in the film.

The grapevine has it that Salman called up the producers T Series and director Bazmee to replace Deepika with Asin. Salman and Asin are said to have become close during the making of their London Dreams, which however bombed.

 

A source also said that Salman is trying to woo back Asin to Bollywood as she is all set to go back to Kollywood and act opposite Vijay in the Tamil remake of Siddique’s Malayalam Bodyguard from April 1.

Let the wagging tongues gossip what they may, actress Deepika Padukone is unperturbed. Once again in the eye of the rumour storm after her very apparent bonhomie with liquid baron Vijay Mallaya's son Siddharth at an IPL match recently, Deepika says it doesn’t matter to her whom she’s linked with.

“It does not matter if you link me up with someone because I know that I am leading a normal life. I have my guy friends with whom I go out like everybody else,” Deepika is quoted as saying by a news agency.

Deepika, who split from Ranbir Kapoor a few months back, says she knows her private life will be talked about by the media.

“I understand that it comes with the kind of work I do and I am fine with it. I am very happy with my life and the work I am doing,” Deepika said.

She is currently in Delhi to shoot her film 'Break Ke Baad' with Imran Khan.

Apparently, she has been bonding very well with the liquor baron’s heir. Turns out this friendship is proving rather lucky for the younger Mallya. Yesterday, when his team Royal Challengers thrashed Kings XI Punjab in Bangalore, Siddharth jumped with joy and almost started dancing in the stadium. He spontaneously turned to Deepika and exclaimed, “You are my lucky mascot. I will get you a big gift tonight.”

An eyewitness says, “Siddharth’s reaction was very impulsive. It clearly came from his heart. His joy knew no bounds.”

Interestingly, Katrina’s presence in the Royal Challengers vs Kolkata Knight Riders match had proved to be unlucky for Royal Challengers since they lost that encounter quite badly. Deepika proved to be lucky for them. Ranbir Kapoor’s ex, Deepika, and ‘good friend’ Katrina still seem to have a cold war going. So far, the score is tied 1-1.
