Saif-Kareena annnounced theirmarriage date !

In the first official confirmation from the family, Bollywood Star Saif Ali Khan‘s mother, Sharmila Tagore has confirmed her son’s marriage to Bollywood Actress Kareena Kapoor on October 16. “Yes, that’s the date we have decided upon. There will be a reception, too, but not a very big one.” The wedding ceremony, said close sources, will be a quiet affair, too.

Sources close to Tagore said that Kapoor, like her would be mother-in-law, will continue acting in films. “Sharmila’s best innings as an actress started after marriage. Saif Ali Khan was a baby on the sets of one of her best films, ‘Aradhana’. Kareena will follow in her footsteps. After marriage, she will do two films a year. Right after she completes Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’, she’ll begin shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram Leela’,” said the source.

In fact, Kapoor has assured a very worried Bhansali that she will not take a break for her wedding. The wedding, which will be held at the Pataudis’ ancestral home, will only be attended by immediate family members of the couple.

Says the source, “Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi died only recently, so the family wanted a low-key wedding. Kareena and her family agreed, too. However, there may be a large reception bash after the wedding, considering both Saif and Kareena have many friends in the film industry.”

The venue for the wedding reception is still undecided. It may be held in Mumbai on the wedding day itself.

Says the source, “The honeymoon, however, will have to wait. Kareena Kapoor has no intentions of letting her films suffer after marriage.”

Saif Ali Khan will never work with Deepika Padukone again!

The usually mild-mannered actor has not taken too kindly to Deepika's walking out of Abbas-Mustan's Race 2 at the eleventh hour, leaving the project in an awful predicament.

Things have gotten so uncomfortable between these two one-time profressional co-stars that their incomplete film -- tentatively titled Cocktail -- is suffering some stress in the final phase of shooting.

Says a friend of Saif, "It's really unfortunate that Deepika walked out of a film where her co-star was Saif. Saif has stood by her repeatedly. He gave her his home production Love Aaj Kal  selecting her over his lady love Kareena Kapoor.Then he signed Deepika for his second production Cocktail. It didn't stop there. Even when his well-wishers told him the pair was getting stale -- he signed Prakash Jha's  Aarakshan ."

Now Saif is perhaps justifiably feeling betrayed.

Says Saif's friend, "Saif worked with Deepika in three films. The least he expected was a certain amount of commitment to the fourth film that they had signed together, specially since this was the most expensive of the four films, and a franchise at that."

Adds the friend, "Saif is very upset with Deepika. He thinks her behaviour is unprofessional and uncool. Would she have walked out on the project if it had starred Shah Rukh , Salman or Aamir Khan ?"

People close to Saif feel Deepika's attitude towards the Saif-starrer did a turn-around the minute she signed films with Rajinikanth and Ranbir Kapoor.

Last week, Saif spoke to Race 2 producer Ramesh Taurani to work out an emergency plan. Apparently, Saif has told Taurani he is with the producer in any line of action adopted to tackle the crisis.

When contacted, Taurani conceded, "Of course Saif is with me on this issue. A case is already filed with CINTAA (Cine and Television Artistes Association) and AMPTPP (Association Of Motion Picture & TV Programme Producers). I am sure justice will prevail."

While Taurani tries to find a replacement quickly, we hear Kareena Kapoor just may re-adjust her dates to accommodate Race 2.

After all work and no recreation during the hectic first schedule, Saif is now off to London to spend time with his ex wife Amrita Singh and kids Sara and Ibrahim. Amrita and the two kids are already in London, which is believed to be their favourite holiday destination.

Not surprisingly, Kareena Kapoor is in Mumbai busy with work. She’s believed to be not very comfortable with Saif’s kids and prefers to stay away when her beau reunites with his family.

However, Bebo would soon be flying to London; not to keep an eye on Saif but to shoot for Shahrukh Khan’s home production Ra.One. But then, work’s a good excuse to be with her dear Saifu once again.

As per a daily, Saif has finally signed a film after rejecting a dozen or so offers. The actor who turned producer last year was rejecting scripts ever since the release of Love Aaj Kal. So, is he acting pricey?

But it did take a lot of persuasion before he signed the next film of his old ally Kunal Kohli, who gave Saif his first solo hit with Hum Tum. Saif seems to be in no mood to sign other films as he is concentrating more on his spy thriller Agent Vinod, which he will produce from his own banner.

As a friend of the actor tells a daily, Saif has certainly entered the best phase of his acting career. He will turn 40 this year and should be doing “maximum” number of films between 40 and 45.

The intimate scenes between Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in Love Aaj Kal won’t offend family audiences, says director Imtiaz Ali . The promo of the movie is getting a lot of attention because it shows eye-grabbing stuff like Saif trying to hold Deepika’s butt or sharing an unabashed kiss with her in the car and also cussing Hinglish expletives on a date. But the director is not worried. He says the promo packs all that is ‘objectionable’ in the film. “Kisses included, nobody will feel inhibited watching ‘Love Aaj Kal’. No one will hesitate walking into the film with his family. All that is potentially objectionable in the film in the strictest of sense has been taken care of in the first promo. If you have warmed up on it, rest assured you will love Love Aaj Kal,” Ali is quoted as saying by IANS.
In fact, there were certain people in the production team who thought the overt promos might give a wrong impression about the movie, but Ali differs with them. “They thought that people may get an impression that the film was only about these things but I had my own viewpoint…My argument is that audiences are really smart. They pretty much see the intention of the filmmaker and make up their mind to watch the film accordingly,” Ali explains.
The movie has Saif and Deepika in dual roles as the story is set in two time periods. In the first roles, Saif and Deepika play Jai and Meera, a modern-day couple in London. They are very happy together but do not believe in tying each other down. In the second time period, in the Calcutta of 1965, they play a Punjabi couple Veer and Harleen. Ali also goes on to reveal that ‘Love Aaj Kal’ is primarily aimed at youth and family crowds. “The film caters to them mainly because it’s this age group that goes and sees films in theatres. Due to this, even when I am conceptualizing a film and then putting it on celluloid, I feel safe from my target audience perspective,” Ali said.

More than a year of steady relationship and tons of romance with Kareena Kapoor hasn’t made Saif Ali Khan comfortable enough to kiss her on screen without being conscious.
It’s not that Saif is not at ease while docking his lips with Kareena’s, he’s just cautious of overdoing it. Since the couple shares a great deal of intimacy in their personal lives, Saif was wary that it would spill out in front of the camera while doing intimate scenes with Kareena in director Rensil D’Silva’s film Jihad .
Though the couple had no qualms in kissing on screen or doing love scenes, they had to be careful about not crossing “the limit” after which the scene becomes a show-reel of their real romance.


“…we have taken care that there isn’t anything that will make us squirm while watching the film with our parents. We’ve done the scenes tastefully and within the limits of decorum,” Saif is quoted as saying by a Mumbai tabloid.
Saif said that doing intimate scenes with Kareena was a “double-edged sword”. On the one hand, they had to restrict their intimacy for the fear of overdoing it, on the other they had to make sure that the scene was passionate enough. So it was pretty much like walking a tight rope.
And we thought love scenes are always easier to shoot for the real couples.

Kareena Spends Coldest Night With Saif

Karan Johar’s yet untitled flick has been based on the subject of terrorism and is directed by Rensil D’Silva. Kareena is working day and night to wrap up her shooting as she and Saif had planned to take a week long leave starting from Christmas to New Year.

Bebo and Saif both have many big budget movies lined up fo release. Next Kareena will be seen in Kambakht Ishq and Mr and Mrs Khanna. Currently, Saif is involved in shooting for his debut production with Deepika Padukone.

New Delhi, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are the latest Bollywood stars to criticise the government for failing to tackle terrorism and protect citizens. Both said they were "disgusted" with politicians "who provide no leadership" while arming themselves "with so many security guards".


The actors were busy shooting for Renzil D’Silva’s untitled project in Philadelphia when the mayhem broke loose in Mumbai Nov 26.


“The government has failed us again. The BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) is advertising for votes while the bodies of the dead have not yet been cremated. Mr. (Narendra) Modi had offered Rs.10 million to the widow of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare. The news has shaken the foundations of our city and destroyed our already shaky belief in our government’s ability to protect us,” Saif wrote in a statement circulated to the media and signed by both.


Added Kareena: “I am disgusted with the so-called political leaders who provide no leadership and ironically surround themselves with so many security guards while doing little or nothing for the security of the people who have voted them to power.


Saif also slammed the terrorists for killing “innocent people” in the name of “god” or “religion”.“As an Indian and a Muslim, I feel like expressing my condemnation and outright disgust at any party killing innocent people in the name of god, Allah or whatever we choose to call him.


“I am so worried that the whole religion (Islam) will be judged and condemned. There are strong communal feelings running through all strata’s of our society and I find it hard to defend the fact that there seems to be a Muslim hand behind every detonator. I feel a little scared as a Muslim now,” explained the actor.


The couple offered commiseration for the families who suffered at the attacks and praised the police and media for their endeavours in tackling the situation.


“Saif and I would both like to offer our deepest condolences to all the bereaved families and I want to applaud the media for being pro-active and for being the force that is trying to unite the nation,” wrote Kareena.


Saif added: “I would like to thank the NSG (National Security Guard) and the Mumbai police who handled the situation so well with so little on their side in terms of equipment and support."


Saif Ali Khan found himself in trouble in Patiala

Actor Saif Ali Khan found himself in trouble when he messed up with some journalist photographers during the shoot of his forthcoming ‘3 Idiots’ in Patiala. It all triggered off when two photo journalists, one belonging to a newspaper and the other to local TV news channel, tried to click photographs of Saif at the railway station where the shooting of the film was on. Khan objected to two photojournalists getting too close; as a result, his security staff allegedly harassed the photographers and took away their cameras.

“I was doing the photo shoot, Saif came in front called for his guards and asked them to take me aside and beat me up,” says photo journalist, Pawan Patialvi.The actor lodged a complaint against them with the railway police station of Patiala. Several media persons assembled on the Mall Road on Sunday night and demanded action against Saif. Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, who is town for for a function, sent his political colleagues Prem Singh Chandumajra of Shiromani Akali Dal and Raj Khurana of BJP to pacify the journalists. The journalists later withdrew their protest.

On Monday evening, the actor issued a formal apology and also cleared his stance regarding the issue.“I apologise as a producer. As an individual I would like to say that the allegation that he was beaten up on my orders is not correct at all,” says actor Saif Ali Khan.

Kareena’s 28th birthday couldn’t have been more special. She had her beau Saif with her in the chilling weather of North India and then getting an opportunity to meet the Jawans at Kargil. It was Bebo’s mom Babita’s idea that to make her birthday somewhat different and special, she spend her birthday with our soldiers working on duty at Kargil.

Speaking about this wonderful experience, Kareena says, “We weren’t just surprised to see Jawans working for our Country, but astonished to see that they were comfortable under such drastic climatic conditions.

Talking about how it happened, Kareena said, “As we were passing by Kargil one day prior to my birthday, mom told me to visit the Jawans as it would be a unique experience and a once in a lifetime opportunity to get their blessings as well. Both Saif and I were excited as well as amazed with the way the soldiers live in such extreme climates and still manage to keep calm under pressure, which gives us an immense sense of pride. We wish them luck and not just them but all the soldiers of our country and wish to thank them for all that they have sacrificed and done for us - the people.”
