After making us wait for almost a year, and with much anticipation, Mallika Sherawat starrer Hisss is finally releasing on 22 October. But surprisingly this release date is only for India and not for US. Hisss will release in the US next year and the reason for it is that the movie needs to be promoted well in the west.
Isn’t it shocking, as Mallika spent almost a year in LA and one of the prime reasons for her stay was also the Hisss promotion? The movie was expected to release worldwide on October 22, but the co-producer of the film Govind Menon tells a tabloid that the English version will release in January 2011.
“We are not releasing it across USA now as we are building up the film a bit… Many Hollywood films don’t release on the same day across the world. There is some serious promotional work left for us to do,” Menon is quoted as saying.
Directed by Jennifer Lynch, Hisss is releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu this week, while the Malayalam one will come next week. In fact, its international version with subtitles will also release in Malaysia, Australia, UK, Fiji, New Zealand and South Africa the same week. According to Menon this is phase I for Hisss and phase 2 will see its grand release in Hollywood.
As for now Mallika is measuring the length and breadth of the country to promote Hisss.

Mallika Sherawat surely knows how to get attention for the actress has left nothing to imagination in her film ‘Hisss’. Believe it or not, Mallika has gone butt naked for her much awaited Hollywood venture that is all set to hit the Indian screens this Friday.
The co-producer of the film Govind Menon has refuted the earlier claims made by Mallika’s brother Vikram Lamba to state that it’s Mallika and not a body double who has done most of the nude scenes for the film.
Confirming the same, Govind Menon, told a daily, "Mallika has done most of the nude scenes in ‘Hisss’ herself. She is a very committed artiste. Working with a woman director made Mallika very, very comfortable. You know what, we talk about competing with the best cinema in the world. For this, we should be ready to do what Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek do, or else we should simply stay at home."
But Menon doesn’t deny that the body double was used at one point or the other. "It was only when she crawls in the mud that she opted for a body double. Moreover, it was very cold that day. The mud scenes were very physically cumbersome. She used the body double for a stunt or two as it would have been dangerous for her to jump,” he asserted.
However, it’s Mallika who has done most of the erotic scenes by herself. “There is no body double in any of the several scenes where she transforms into a snake. Come to think of it, the whole concept of nudity is justified because when you transform into a snake, which Mallika often does in the film, you can`t have a dress or even a cloth or even a piece of jewellery on you," he added.

Los Angeles – Mallika Sherawat continues to take Hollywood by storm, recently hanging out with rock stars at the famed Sunset Strip music venue The House Of Blues. As a special guest of Donovan Leitch (son of legendary musician Donovan) at his Camp Freddy gig, Mallika met and hobnobbed with Ace Frehely of the band KISS, Duff McKagan of GUNSnROSES, Dave Navarro of JANES ADDICTION, Billy Duffy of THE CULT and Ozzy Ozbourne.
Accompanied by her Los Angeles entourage, Mallika hung out backstage before the show, then enjoyed her very first rock concert down front of the stage for the full experience. She “tweeted” throughout the night on her Twitter social networking account, saying to her followers “OMG! Ozzy’s on right now! I have no eardrums left!” and that notorious rake of rock Dave Navarro was “very charming and a perfect gentlemen.”
When asked what she thought of the concert, she replied, “Please speak up, I really can’t hear anything at all.” When the question was loudly repeated, Mallika said she “had great fun. Donovan was the perfect host. For my first rock concert, it couldn’t have been better!”

Bollywood bombshell Mallika Sherawat heated up Salman Khan's show 10 Ka Dum. The hot Haryanvi chick was accompanied by fellow Harayanvi Olympian boxing champ Vijender Singh. The two who had never met in the past seemed comfortable in each other's company. The test here was between beauty and brawn and it seemed both of them lacked brains as they struggled to get the answers right.
Buzz up!The show became interesting when Mallika who is taking cooking classes offered to cook a meal for both the muscular men.
Salman rolled his sleeves and joined her in the act. Mallika was offered some dough and a rolling pin but struggled to roll out a neat chapatti. Salman who did it in a fraction of a second seemed straight out of Sanjeev Kapoor's kitchen. Vijender who joined the act rolled out a boxing short after much struggle.

Ram Gopal Varma won’t admit it. But Irrfan Khan lets it out that Ramu’s recently-announced terror film Agyaat was inspired by the special effects Ramu saw on the sets of Jennifer Lynch Hissss.
Irrfan Khan can’t wait to be devoured by Mallika Sherawat. "She plays a man-eating creature. She swallows men in the film. And I’m just dying to be swallowed her. Watching her devour men is a very very sensuous process. Unfortunately, I don’t get eaten by her. I’m the investigative officer trying to find out who’s devouring all these human beings."
Chuckles Irrfan, "I’m working in Hissss with two very different and interesting kind of women, Mallika Sherawat and Jennifer Lynch. Hissss would’ve been like any other snake woman story. But the way Jennifer has treated the story has taken the film to another level. The special effects will shock our audiences. Irrfan was in Philadelphia shooting for New York and then in Cape Town for Sanjay Gupta’s Acid Factory. "I love the US. And I loved working with Kabir Khan. He’s a very chilled out guy. Kabir’s unit was as relaxed. I felt as relaxed as I do while working in a Mira Nair film abroad."
Irrfan’s next release Dil Kabaddi offers him a change of image. "I’m not going to pretend. Dil Kabaddi is a film strictly for adults. And we shouldn’t shy away from saying this. It’s about dishonesty in man-woman relationships. I call it dishonesty by the standards set by civil society. Sometimes you are not satisfied in one relationship and keep looking for sexual and emotional satisfaction elsewhere. I like playing this promiscuous character. "I play a man who’s very transparent about his sexual desires.

Her career in Bollywood mightn’t look safe but Mallika Sherawat is not ready to give up in any way. In fact, she thinks she’s the queen when it comes to foreign film festivals especially after her ’show all’ Cannes appearance three years ago.
She mightn’t be a permanent fixture in Indian film festivals but it’s not been the same abroad. The buzz is that the actress has been invited as a VIP guest to the Kuala Lumpur film festival. There she’ll be walking down the red carpet with other celebrity guests and will also present some of the awards at the festival.
Well it’s a big thing for Mallika who’s not really such a permanent fixture in desi film festivals. The festival will reportedly be attended by quite a few major Asian and European filmmakers.
The actress is currently shooting for Jennifer Lynch’s Hisss and she desperately hopes that it will give her international fame. So it’s likely that she wouldn’t let go of such an occasion and will surely make her presence felt!
