It’s already been reported earlier that Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor’s relationship are going through a rough patch. A huge crack in their love affair has further been created on the occasion of Tarun Mansukhani’s birthday party. A close pal of the couple reveals, "Last week Deepika was to join Ranbir for going to Dostana director Tarun Mansukhani’s birthday party at late night. Since she got stuck due to her work commitments (shooting of Excel Entertainment’s Kartik Calling Kartik), Ranbir told her he would go alone to the party.

But despite telling her so, he didn’t go their. Instead he chose to attend another party that had his debut film Saawariya heroine Sonam Kapoor and her good friend Kunal Kapoor. “He didn’t tell this to Deepika who was well under the impression for days that he was at Tarun’s party. The birthday party saw new love birds Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra making an entry and exit together publicly for the first time. John Abraham and Bipasha Basu too came in for the bash. When Deepika came to know about Ranbir’s lie, it is learnt that she lambasted him over the phone while he kept giving her excuses such as how it was all a last minute change in his plan etc." Its not only Ranbir who is ignoring Deepika but his parents and sister also sounds quite negative about the dusky beauty.

Breast squeeze dialogue shocks the Censor Board

Imagine a scene in which the film’s hero is told to squeeze the heroine’s breasts! No wonder the Censor Board is in shock. Realistic filmmaker Manish Gupta, known for his hard-hitting films ‘Matrabhoomi’ and ‘The Stoneman Murders’, has gone a bit too far in depicting realism in his next film Hostel . As the title suggests, the film revolves around a bunch of students living in a hostel. There is a scene in the film where the characters played by Vatsal Seth and Tulip Joshi are ragged by their seniors. In this scene, one senior tells Vatsal to squeeze Tulip’s breasts. According to a tabloid, the senior’s dialogue goes something like this : “Iski chhati dabaa.

Private mein to dabata hai. Ab bhi dabaa. Nahin toh hum dabayenge.” The Censor Board was so shocked by the dialogue that they refused to give even an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate to the film. The director was straightaway told that such kind of dialogue would not be allowed in films. Gauzing the gravity of the board’s reaction, Manish Gupta has now decided to change the scene. Now, the seniors will force Vatsal to kiss Tulip. Despite the change, Manish maintains that such kind of vulgar ragging does take place in colleges.

Salman Khan starts missing Asin

During the shoot of his forthcoming release London Dreams, Salman Khan wanted to stay at his favourite hotel in Central London. This despite the fact that the rest of the cast and crew were put up at another hotel in the city. Initially Khan was happier staying at his preferred hotel - away from the crew members. But according to a source from the sets, a few days later he started missing them all. On hearing stories from Asin and Ajay Devgan about all the fun post pack up, Khan started feeling left out and was missing the camaraderie. So within a week Khan went to Vipul Shah and asked him to move him back to the crew hotel with the entire gang. We wonder with Asin in the crew if Salman was actually missing anybody else?

“Slumdog Millionaire” star Freida Pinto appeared in the chart of world’s sexiest women for the first time in the British men’s lifestyle magazine FHM. Last month, Pinto was also voted among the top five Hollywood sexiest women by men’s magazine Details. The latest addition to the linkup of Freida with ‘The Slumdog Millionaire’ co-star, Dev Patel, is that the couple was spotted kissing each other during a dinner date in Israel. Dev had reportedly flown to Israel to meet his lady love on the sets of her new movie ‘Miral’. Since the time they appeared in ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, Freida and Dev have sparked rumours of linkup. Even Anil Kapoor confirmed that something was going on between the two.

He had said, “”When I meet them I feel there is something happening. (I think) this is the beginning of something exciting happening. They definitely make a great pair. Both of them look very good together.” However, both the actors have always denied anything between them. On one hand the 24-year-old actress insisted “We’re not dating,” and on the other the 18-year-old Patel added, “No, we’re not seeing each other.” Now, we have something to ask here. People don’t kiss each other on a dinner date if there is nothing going one, dear Freida and Dev, or do they??

John strips in New York, Neil strips in Jail

Neil Nitin Mukesh and his mentor /bade bhaiyya John Abraham are shooting at the same venue for two different films. But they aren’t meeting. The interesting part is the two adjacent sets at Nitin Mukesh’s studio in Karjat both represent huge prison sets.While Madhur Bhandarkar is shooting his prison film Jail on one prison set, nextdoor David Dhawan is shooting scenes in a prison with John Abraham for Hook Ya Crook. Desperate attempts are being made to keep the cast and crew of one separate from the other to ensure there’s no creative overlapping or duplicating from one to another. The fact that gym buddies John and Neil aren’t fraternizing although they are shooting a breath away from one another is ample proof that the two units have decided to stay away from one another with their respective prison secrets.

Innocent jailbird that he is Neil says from Karjat, “To be honest I have hardly had the chance to meet John here, although we’re shooting just a hop and skip away from one another. In all this time maybe we’ve met just once.” This, after spending all their free time together in Phildelphia when they were shooting for New York, and later in Mumbai where they even gymed together. Lekin bhai, creativity ka sawaal hai. Incidentally Kabir Khan’s New York has prison scenes where John is stripped naked and tortured for being a suspected terrorist. Neil in Jail heads gets into his birthday suit and is similarly tortured for crimes he hasn’t committed in Jail. With one prison story resembling another without trying, is it any wonder that best buddies John and Neil have decided to stay away from one another and not exchange notes over their prison stories? While many Bollywood actors are simply not interested in campaigning for political candidates, Koena Mitra was in Jharkhand addressing the masses in her mother tongue Bengali.

The sexy siren was quoted as saying that she did it for a friend, Vinod Sinha, who is the active member of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha. Koena was in Baliapur, Jharkhand, campaigning for JVM. She was there in the rally along with Babulal Marandi, ex chief Minister of Jharkhand and JVM chief.

Koena was there to add the glam factor, as she later admitted to a daily. The actress made the crowd wait for more than 2 hours and simply rendered one line in Bengali because the major population in the area is of Bengali people. The party also made the promise of building a film studio in Jharkhand.

Koena was in the state along with celebrities like yesteryear actress Zeenat Aman and Mahima Choudhary , who were there for other parties’ election campaigns. Popular celebrities like Preity Zinta and Aishwarya Rai have casually said no to election campaigns while Salman Khan has been campaigning for many.

Abhi-Ash celebrate second wedding anniversary

Theirs is the match that truly looks made in heaven. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai celebrate their second wedding anniversary today. It’s been two years since the two stars tied the knot and exchanged nuptial vows. And then, on the day their movie Guru premiered in Toronto, Abhishek said the Dhai akshar of prem to Ash and proposed a wedding. She readily accepted. According to the News of The World, in a desperate bid to escape from a life of slum and poverty, Rafiq Qureshi, the father of Rubina Ali put her up for adoption in lieu of 2,00,000 pounds.However, when asked, Qureshi denied any such kind of a report and said, “These reports are not true. Nine-year-old Rubina shot to fame by playing the young Latika in Danny Boyle’s film, which picked up eight Oscars besides earning millions at the box office. The film depicts the heartwarming story of a Mumbai slum dweller, who escapes the Mumbai slums by winning USD 20 million in the Indian version of ’Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’.

Celina Jaitley re-launches the Gay Magazine ‘Bombay Dost’

Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley has always been outspoken and has always stood up for the rights of the gay community. The actress has yet again done it for the gays by re launching India’s first registered Gay magazine called ‘Bombay Dost‘ at Oxford Bookstore, Churchgate. The host of the evening, Vivek Raj Anand, CEO of Humsafar Trust considered the moment overwhelming for the entire community as the defunct magazine was being relaunched in a bigger and bolder avatar after 7 long years. He called Celina as one of those rare angels who was beautiful through her actions too for openly embracing the community and helping it in everyway. Celina humbly asked everyone not to consider her action as a charitable act. She elaborated on how this is a human right for every individual and about gays deserving more than acceptance, the compassion and love of everyone; to be a part of ‘us’. She even generously volunteered to help the trust with her own finances until they could find more sponsors.

Prince Manavendra, the first person from a Royal family to be openly gay, was also introduced as a man who was called on the Oprah Winfrey show for showing the courage to break norms. Akshay, Kareena going to Cannes!

If things go as planned, the eagerly awaited Bollywood movie Kambakkht Ishq will premiere at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival. The festival in the south of France can see Bollywood’s action and comedy king Akshay Kumar and style diva Kareena Kapoor walking the red carpet in May. High on style and oomph, ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ is a movie with an international appeal and tons of Hollywood glamour in the desirable shapes of stars like the ‘Rambo’ man Sylvester Stallone, ‘Wild Things’ sex siren Denise Richards, and ‘Superman’ Brandon Routh. So it’s not surprising that producer Sajid Nadiadwala is thinking of showcasing the film at Cannes. Reports say plans are already afoot to slice the movie’s running time and to dub it in English for the special screening at the Cannes Film Festival.

And buzz is that everyone from the cast, including Akshay, Kareena and the Hollywood stars will walk the red carpet for the film’s premiere. The makers of ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ don’t want to leave any stone unturned to promote the film as an international movie. The film will release worldwide with a huge number of prints (the figure is not known) surpassing even blockbusters like Singh Is Kinng and Ghajini , that set records for releasing with maximum number of prints. And both Nadiadwala and the film’s distributor Eros International see a Cannes premiere as the best possible international publicity for the film. The producer says plans are underway but the Cannes premiere is not confirmed yet.

South beauty Lakshmi Rai enters Bollywood

Lakshmi Rai , an eye-pleasing blend of beauty and oomph, is now getting her foot in the door to Bollywood. Often referred to as Dhoni’s girl because of her alleged romantic affair with the swashbuckling cricketer, 27-year-old Lakshmi is shifting base from Chennai to Mumbai. She has worked down south in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada cinema, but has now set her eyes on Bollywood.

According to Lakshmi, she often used to scuttle between Chennai and Mumbai for professional work but since offers from Mumbai have increased manifold in the last few months, she’s decided to shift. And Lakshmi doesn’t think her increased demand in Bollywood is due to the link-up with Dhoni but due to a magazine cover that brought her to the notice of people in Mumbai.

Ash-Abhi may celebrate anniversary in Europe

The ill-health of director Mani Ratnam has changed the plan of Ash-Abhi to skip celebration and shoot for ‘Raavan’ during their second marriage anniversary. Mani who was advised to take rest by doctors may take a short break from his work and may not work on the day of their anniversary. Ash-Abhi who failed to celebrate anniversary last year may head for Europe or the US on April 20. Ratnam was admitted to Chennai’s Apollo Hospital due to breathing difficulty and chest pain.

Mani’s health has put a question mark whether they will shoot or not. Moreover Ash and Abhi who is very concerned about this health does no want him to take much strain. Earlier when Mani approached them to shoot some crucial scene as he does not want to delay the project anymore, the duo agreed. For the last few months the Bachchan duo was going through very hectic schedules and hardly got time to spend with each other. They are excited as they will get to enjoy this anniversary.

Asin and Genelia in an Orange War!

The battle has begun between two former south Indian actresses Asin and Genelia now ruling the roost in Bollywood for India’s biggest orange soft drink market- South India. Asin has been endorsing Mirinda for the last three years, while Genelia has become Fanta brand ambassador from this year. Tamilnadu alone accounts for 25 percent of the total orange soft drink market in the country. The rivalry between PepsiCo and Coca Cola India for the South Orange market has been bitter, and much juice has flowed in the campaign. Last three years the market leader in the orange category was clearly PepsiCo India’s Mirinda, thanks to Asin, while Simran and later Trisha gave stiff competition with Coca Cola India’s Fanta.

This summer, Fanta has decided to take Mirinda head on by signing up Genelia, the new youth icon in Bollywood who has a huge fan base in south. Says a leading Chennai based brand consultant: “ Asin and Genelia are big in Bollywood today after Ghajini and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na respectively. They have already become national brand ambassadors for their respective brands. But the winner in the orange war will be decided by who wins in Tamilnadu, the biggest market for orange soft drink in the country.”

On Friday (April 17) Genelia, flew to Chennai for a big summer 2009 Fanta launch in Tamilnadu. Genelia was in her elements and said, “It feels great to be associated with Brand Fanta. It has been my favorite sparkling drink for a long time. I am quite thrilled about the launch of Fanta Apple. It’s a great product and I am confident that its refreshing taste would find a special appeal amongst all my fans.” Two weeks back Asin was in Coimbatore for summer season launch party of Mirinda. Asin’s two new television commercials with the theme ’Mirinda Kannu, Konjam Galatta Pannu’ have become super hits with the audiences. The buzz in the soft drink market in Tamilnadu is that this summer it is going to be a tough battle between the two orange drinks, and larger than life stars play an important role in the sales.

Celina Jaitley loves her friends gay and happy

Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley who has always vociferously campaigned for the rights of the gay community has yet again proved her commitment. This pretty actress did the honour of re-launching India’s first registered Gay magazine called ‘Bombay Dost’ at Oxford Bookstore, Churchgate. The host of the evening, Vivek Raj Anand, CEO of Humsafar Trust spoke about how it was an overwhelming moment for the entire community as the defunct magazine was being relaunched in a bigger and bolder avatar after 7 long years.

He spoke about how they have the support and love of many celebrities but Celina being one of those rare angels who was beautiful through her actions too for openly embracing the community and helping it in everyway. The founding editor Ashok Row Kavi spoke about how the magazine had people from every strata of society relating to it and how they had responses from as far as Tajakistan and Uzhbekistan! Celina herself passionately spoke about not considering this as a charitable act. She elaborated on how this is a human right for every individual and about gays deserving more than acceptance, the compassion and love of everyone; to be a part of ‘us’.

She even generously volunteered to help the trust with her own finances until they could find more sponsors. Prince Manavendra, the first person from a Royal family to be openly gay, was also introduced as a man who was called on the Oprah Winfrey show for showing the courage to break norms. Prince Manavendra also spoke about his first brush with Bombay Dost when he was still young and how that association has carried over 14 years, also resulting in the creation of Lakshya Trust. The event was concluded with the media interacting with the guests and answering media queries.

Priyanka Chopra released from hospital

Priyanka Chopra has faced two health scares over the period of one week. Just a week back, she fainted on the sets of director Ashutosh Gowarikar’s film ‘What’s Your Raashi’ due to fatigue and exhaustion and now, this Saturday, she was admitted to a hospital after feeling acute stomach pain and physical exhaustion. A number of tests were conducted and the lady was advised complete bed rest for a few days.

Priyanka has now been discharged from Kokilaben Hospital in Andheri, Mumbai late afternoon on Monday, April 13. However, the actress still looked very weak. Her father, Dr. Ashok Chorpa said, “She had fever and had been unwell for some time. We advised her to take a battery of tests and so she has been kept under observation. Though all her test reports are normal, she has been advised to take rest and to slow down her work schedule.” He further added, “We are leaving for a long family vacation, but Priyanka first wants to complete Ashutosh Gowariker’s film (first week of May).”

Sonakshi Sinha to debut opposite Salman Khan

Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of yesteryear’s actor Shatrughan Sinha, is all set to make her entry into showbiz and what could be a better launch that to be cast opposite Salman Khan himself. Salman has already been a launch pad for actresses like Sneha Ullal and Sonam Kapoor in ‘Lucky- No time for love’ and ‘Saawariyan’ respectively. Yes, the young actress is definitely lucky indeed to get to share screen space with Salman Khan in her very first film. The film which is a human relationship drama is yet untitled and is to be directed by Abhinav Kashyap (brother of Anurag Kashyap) and produced by Arbaaz Khan under his newly launched banner Arbaaz Khan Productions. Shahrukh Khan apologises to Gavaskar

Bollywood superstar and co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) IPL team Shahrukh Khan , who had criticised Sunil Gavaskar on the issue of multiple captaincy, has now apologised to the legendary batsman. "I have not said anything against Gavaskar. I just wanted to have a breathing space to try something new. I have sent him an apology letter if he felt so because he was in America that time," Shah Rukh said before his departure to South Africa for the upcoming tournament.

He said, "due to the wonderful methodology that television applies, that comment was for people who don’t understand cricket and are still telling me how to run the team." "If Gavaskar asks me to walk on my head and run the team, I would. Any thing that Gavaskar says that has to do with cricket, if he mentions, should be followed," the actor said. The apology comes in wake of Shah Rukh’s criticism of Gavaskar, who had lashed out at KKR coach John Buchanan for his proposal to have multiple captains in the team. Shahrukh said the controversy had hurt him. "People are making comments without understanding what the concept of multiple captaincy is," he said.

Nandana Sen says no to nude scene

It’s something unexpected from someone like Nandana Sen who has done some dare-bare scenes in the past. But the lady refused to sign an international project to be directed by Italian director Italo Spinelli because of nudity.

Nandana is not ready to do this film, which requires her to bare her skin once again. The film is based on eminent Bengali writer Mahasweta Devi’s short story ‘Behind the Bodice’ (Choli ke Picche). Nandana was approached for playing a tribal woman of 1950’s era when poor rural women used to just wrap sari on their body without a blouse.

The project is however a desirable one, but Nandana’s apprehension for the film is evident with this quoted statement, “It’s a powerful story and although I support it fully I feel the subject matter is such that the tribal girl’s nudity cannot avoid becoming unintentionally voyeuristic and exoticised even though that is definitely not the objective.” Or may be the actress doesn’t want to indulge in nudity for another film right after Ketan Mehta’s Rang Rasiya in which she plays the muse of legendary painter Raja Ravi Verma, played by Randeep Hooda and poses nude for his paintings. And since the movie deals with the subject of censorship of art, nudity was at the very core of the film. Nandana’s scenes in the yet-to-be released film are not obscene and were shot aesthetically. The actress had showed her bareback in the movie Tango Charlie too.

After Nandana’s no, the movie has been pushed to the next year. Post Slumdog Millionaire many westerners are apparently keen to make movies in India.

Rumors are rife that Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan’s relationship is going through a rough patch, however Salman according to reports is behaving very strangely with Katrina, inspite of the fact that she loves him very much. Aishwarya refuses to become Barbie

Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has declined to be immortalised as a Barbie doll due to her professional commitments. It was earlier reported that representatives of the 35-year-old actress were in negotiations with Barbie’s manufacturer Mattel, who planned to give the iconic doll a Bollywood face. But the deal did not take off. Since 1994 when Aishwarya won the Miss World title, the company has made numerous attempts to make a celebrity doll modelled on the Indian beauty. However, she could never get time for their endeavour, due to her professional commitments, she said. Yet again on the doll’s 50th anniversary, Aishwarya was approached to appear decked up as a celebrity Barbie.

"Mattel was keen to have the actress walk the ramp on Lakme Fashion Week ’Barbie dolled up’ in a winning design as Single Likeness Barbie, which would be unveiled and auctioned for a charity of her choice," said a statement issued by Aishwarya’s spokesperson. However, the actress opted out due to her prior commitments as she did not want to cause inconvenience to the film-makers she was working with by taking time out for the event.

Genelia, Gul become youth leaders

Sonam Kapoor features in the new Jagore ad, where she appeals to the youth to cast their vote. Following her footsteps are none other than Gul Panag, Genelia D Souza, Rahul Bose and Kunal Kapoor. The awesome foursome have associated themselves with YOUTHLEAD, a programme organized by youngsters to spread awareness amongst them regarding voting. The celebs have teamed up with 10 NGO’s who will address the youth on Saturday 4th April between 7 pm to 10 pm at Mt CARMEL church grounds, Bandra West, next to Lilavati Hospital. The celebs will be a part of the mela on Saturday to celebrate the power of youth during this national election.

The event will be inaugurated by Rahul Bose who believes that every youngster should vote because if they don’t, someone else will vote in their name. Genelia, Kunal and Gul told Indiatimes Movies that, “If youngsters want the Indian politics and their country to get better they have to be the change they want to see in the society.” Genelia added, “Many youngsters have voting issues, have no clue about their rights and duties etc. Events like these will spread the awareness amongst them.” The event will also see many other celebs like Vishal Dadlani and Gerson D’Cunha supporting the cause.
